TONKA CURRICULUM LONG RANGE SHOOTING, U13-U17
Objectives: 1. A Detailed Focus on Technique 2. Improve ability to score from outside the box (distance shooting) 3. Have fun! Format: 1) Pre-Session Warmup: Individual Juggling - NO SPIN (5 minutes) 2) Technical game (15 minutes) 3) Small-sided game (15 minutes) 4) Small-sided game with bigger numbers, big goals and GK’s (20 minutes) 5) PLAY and TEACH the rules of the game (20 minutes)

COACHING POINTS
The game starts with both balls on 1 side. One team chips a ball to his /her partner. The partner must receive the ball before it touches the ground (or no point). It must be done with 1 touch . The ball is left where it stops moving and the other team has a go. If both teams connect, then the team whose ball is closest to the cone wins the point. If the ball touches the cone, then the team receives 2 points. The game continues with the receiving players now serving their partners. Play games to 7.

- Check for Locked Ankles - Angle of Approach Sligthly off Center - ,Long Power Step, Plant Foot Straight - Ankle Locked,Toe Down upon contact - Sweet Spot to Middle of Ball - Swing from Hip, not knee
- Use Big Goals and Goalkeepers - Each team has 3 shooters behind half line and 1 rebounder in front of half - Players stay on their respective halves. 4 minute games and switch. - Add in minimum 1 pass from offensive team, prep touch - Defense can try to block ball, continuous play - Use big cones or flags for goal posts COACHING POINTS: 1) Focus on prep touch towards goal and away from pressure; 2) Land on Shooting foot; 3) Pass and Shoot quickly
4 v 4 (v4) CUT-THROAT

- 3 teams of 4. Two teams on, 1 team off - 2 teams play until 1 team scores or gets 3 shots on goal - Each score or 3 shots = 1 point and winning team stays on. Play games to 5. - Scoring team gets ball and changes direction immediately, Defensive team is kicked off - Team that is off comes on to play defense immediately COACHING POINTS: 1) First look is to Shoot and Score; 2) Second look is to pass to someone who can score; 3) Third look is to be keep possession OR beat an opponent
PLAY 6 v 6 to BIG GOALS
- 1 point for shot on goal, 3 points for goal
- Coach can be Boss of Balls to keep things flowing - A good time to focus on free kicks (Direct and Indirect) and corner kicks
