In essence, our customers place their lives in our hands and it is to this end that we dedicate ourselves to on a daily basis and strive to ensure that this trust has not been misplaced. This commitment is ingrained in every individual we employ, and it can be measured in the exceptional products we produce, as well as in the courteous, expedient service that we provide to all of our customers on a daily basis. It is also our belief that to achieve our Mission Statement, it is simply not enough to just produce and ship state-of-theart products to our customers. The scope of our commitment includes offering the education necessary for our customers to make safe, logical choices for all of their project needs. These are the founding principles upon which we conduct business, and we will never deviate from, nor allow compromises to, these fundamental values. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. Psalms 33:12

A comprehensive line of convenient Arc Flash protective clothing! OHSA 29 CFR 1910.269 (1)6)(iii) requires employers to ensure that their employee’s clothing does not increase the extent of injuries sustained when exposed to flames or electric arcs. Clothing worn for a particular application must have a Breakeven Threshold Energy (EBT) or Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV) higher than the potential hazard to prevent the onset of second degree burns. The NFPA 70E standard addresses electrical-safety work practices and procedures. The standard is applicable to employees working on or near exposed energized electrical conductors or circuit parts.

16

Although not formally adopted by OSHA, NFPA 70E is often the defacto standard referenced in its citations. It requires employees to wear flame resistant (FR) clothing that meets the performance requirements of ASTM F1506 when exposure to electric arc flash is possible.

WHAT IS INHERENT FABRIC AND HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM TREATED FABRIC? The term “inherent,” as it relates to flame resistant fabric, means that the flame resistant properties were created at the moment the actual fiber was spun resulting in a flame-resistance that is an intrinsic part of the inherently flame resistant fabric. This process is permanent, and cannot be washed out or worn out of the fiber no matter how the garment is used or laundered. Naturally flammable fabrics - such as cotton or cotton/nylon blends - that have a manufacturing step in their creation where a special mixture of chemicals is applied to make the final fabric flame-resistant (FR) are referred to as “treated” or “topically treated” fabrics. Unlike fabrics made with inherently FR fibers, chemically treated FR fabrics may lose some or all of their flame resistant properties over time through laundering and/or exposure to certain chemicals in the work environment.

WHY OEL FR SHIELD™ FABRICS? All OEL FR Shield™ fabrics used in the manufacturing of our ARC Flash apparel meets and or exceeds NFPA 70E, HRC 2, NFPA 2112 and ASTM F1506 performance standards and feature the best of the best: DuPont ™ - Protera® Glenraven ™- Glenguard® Tencate ™- Tecasafe ®plus Innovative Textiles™ - Reliant® DuPont™ Nomex® IIIA ArcGuard ®Revolite™ OEL Worldwide Industries is committed to remaining the vanguard of ARC Flash apparel and will use the most innovative and cutting edge Inherent fabrics available.
