Cutting Directions: A. 23345-J (panel) • Cut panel 1/4” outside of black scroll frame. B. 23379-Z (white hat print) • Cut (3) 4 7/8” strips; subcut (20) 4 7/8” squares. Cut each square in half diagonally to yield (40) half-square triangles. • Cut (2) 2 7/8” squares. Cut each square in half diagonally to yield (4) half-square triangles. • Cut (1) 3 1/4” square. Cut each square diagonally in both directions to yield (40) quarter-square triangles. • From remainder of 5 1/4” strips, cut (2) 3 5/16” squares. Construction: Block 1 1. Sew a gray (D) 5 1/4”” triangle to a black (E) 5 1/4” triangle along short sides. Press toward the black triangle. Repeat to make (18) sets.

Totally Wicked Block 3 1. Sew a gray (D) 5 1/4” triangle to a black (E) 5 1/4” triangle along short sides. Press toward the black triangle. Repeat to make (2) units.

2. Sew a white (B) 4 7/8” triangle to the unit from step 1 to complete block. Press toward the white triangle. Repeat to make (18) blocks.

Block 2 1. Sew a gray (D) 5 1/4”” triangle to a black (E) 5 1/4” triangle along opposite short side that was sewn in Block 1. Press toward the black triangle. Repeat to make (18) sets.

2. Sew a white (B) 5 1/4” triangle to a black (E) 5 1/4” triangle along short sides. Press toward the black triangle. Repeat to make (2) units.

3. Sew a unit from step 1 to a unit from step 2 to complete block. Press. Repeat to make (2) blocks.

2. Sew a white (B) 4 7/8” triangle to the unit from step 1 to complete block. Press toward the white triangle. Repeat to make (18) blocks.

Totally Wicked Block 4 1. Sew a white (B) 2 7/8” triangle to adjacent sides of a black (E) 3 5/16” square. Press toward the white triangles. Repeat to make (2) units.

4. Sew a step 2 unit to one side of a step 1 unit. Sew a step 3 unit to the remaining side to complete block. Press toward the triangle units. Repeat to make (2) blocks.

Make 2 Block 5 1. Sew a white (B) 4 7/8” triangle to a gray (D) 4 7/8” triangle along the long sides. Press toward the gray triangle. Repeat to make (4) blocks.

2. Sew a white (B) 3 1/4” triangle to a gray (D) 3 1/4” triangle along short sides. Press toward the gray triangle. Repeat to make (2) units.

3. Repeat step 2 but sew seam on the opposite side of triangles. Press toward the gray triangle. Repeat to make (2) units.

Assembly: 1. Center a green (C) 2” strip to one side of the panel and sew. Press toward the green strip. Trim ends of strip even with panel. Repeat for opposite side. 2. Repeat step 1 sewing strips to the top and bottom of the panel.

Totally Wicked 3. Trim framed panel to 36 1/2” x 44 1/2”.

7. Sew a side border to the framed panel. Press toward the panel. Sew a side border to remaining side of panel and press. 8. Sew border to the top of the framed panel. Press toward the panel. Sew a border to the bottom of the panel and press.

4. Sew (5) Block 1, (5) Block 2 and (1) Block 3 together to create side border. Press. Repeat.

Make 2

Finishing 1. Prepare backing with two widths of fabric. Press.

5. Sew (4) Block 1, (4) Block 2 and (1) Block 4 together to create top border. Press. Repeat to create bottom border.

2. Layer quilt top, batting and backing. Quilt as desired. 3. Trim layers even with quilt top.

4. Prepare binding using black (E) 2 1/2” strips. Sew to quilt using you preferred method.

6. Sew a Block 5 to each end of both the top and bottom borders.
