1. Open & thoroughly clean and dry the bonnet. Locate and mark the centreline of the underside of the bonnet. Trial fit Bonnet Protector centrally onto bonnet. Note the holes in the underside of the bonnet that correspond to the large metal clips. Also note the centre and outer small metal clip positions, then mark these positions onto the bonnet with a pencil or non-permanent marker. Remove Bonnet Protector. See Dia #1. 2. Clean the lip of the bonnet at the five (5) metal clip locations. Wipe away any residue with a clean, dry cloth. Adhere the large abrasive resistant tape strips to the edge of the bonnet at the large metal clip locations, as shown. Apply tape so approximately half of each strip is adhered to the topside and half is adhered to the underside of bonnet. See Dia #2.

Diagram #: 2

3. Adhere the small abrasive resistant tape strips to the edge of the bonnet at the small metal clip locations, as shown. Apply tape strips as per Step 2. See Dia #3.

4. Remove the backing from the large rubber gaskets and attach each gasket to the face of each large metal clip, as shown. Install the large metal clips over the abrasive resistant tape strips at the locations shown. Secure the clips to the bonnet with the screw plugs and self tapping screws provided. Ensure the correct orientation of the screw plugs, as shown. See Dia #4. IMPORTANT: Ensure the clips are positioned over abrasive resistant tape and do not come in contact with any of the bonnet’s paint work. Failure to do this may result in permanent paint damage.
