HEALTH SERVICES

Any health concerns or issues can be addressed by calling the Health Center at 724-938-4232. A health form must be completed by all campers.

HOUSING All campers, as well as the staff, will be housed in stateof-the-art air conditioned residential halls. Entry doors are locked and secured 24 hours a day. Campers must use their keys to gain access to the residence halls. Pillow and linens are not provided. LOST KEY POLICY

Campers who do not turn in their room key at camp dismissal will be charged the lock change fee of $50-240, payable at departure. For security reasons, lock changes must be made immediately before the next group arrives. Mailing keys in after checkout is not permissible. There will be no exceptions.

Victoria Paterra

Cal U assistant coach in charge of throws. In just one year she coached Cal U throwers to podium finishes at PSAC’s and break school records that were set in the 1970’s. Paterra, a two-time NCAA All-American at Miami University, threw the Javelin over 182 feet, and also finished in the top 10 at the 2014 US National Championships.

The California University Track & Field Camp will provide a great opportunity for athletes to learn and improve at their individual events. Whether you are a beginner or advanced athlete, this camp will help you to develop proper technique and help to improve performances. The main emphasis will be on improving mechanics and technique. In addition to learning world-class training techniques, campers will be taught about sports nutrition, sports psychology, and other factors in improving performances.

CAMP DIRECTOR DANIEL CAULFIELD

Caulfield, the Head Track & Field and Cross Country Coach at Cal U, has coached numerous Olympic Trials qualifiers, national champions, All-Americans, and conference record holders. In addition to coaching at Cal U, he also coached at Clarion University, and at his alma mater, Adams State University in Colorado.

GENERAL INFORMATION

CAMP INSTRUCTORS Brenton Emanuel Brenton Emanuel Illinois State University sprints and hurdles coach. Emanuel, a former Cal U assistant coach, also coached at Eastern Illinois, where he helped coach the Panthers to nine team championships. Emanuel guided NCAA All-American sprinter Zye Boey, 44 OVC individual champions, 55 All-Ohio Valley honorees and aided student-athletes to eight school records. Tyler Throener Cal U Jumps coach. Coached at Texas Tech under the highly successful sprints coach Dion Miller and prior to that assisted legendary University of Nebraska Jumps coach, Gary Pepin. Throener recently worked with World Champion Omo Osaghae. In just over a year at Cal U, his athletes have already broken four school records, received multiple All-PSAC awards, and jumped NCAA qualifying marks.

Bryanna Johnson

Cal U Sprints, Hurdles, and Relays coach. In 2015 alone, Johnson has coached multiple conference champions including both the men’s and women’s 4x100m relays champions. Her athletes have broken 3 school records, and run NCAA national qualifying times. A former hurdler at Rutgers, Johnson coached at NCAA Division 1 Abilene Christian University in Texas, prior to her arrival at Cal U. Johnson was also a New Jersey Meet of Champions bronze medalist in the 100m hurdles.

Strength & Conditioning – Campers

will engage in supervised weight room training throughout the camp. Renowned Strength and Conditioning coach and lecturer, Bobby Sepesy, along with his excellent staff, will instruct campers on the do’s and don’ts of weight training.

2015 PSAC 4x100m Champions

GENERAL CAMP INFORMATION ALL campers should arrive on campus between 1 and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24th. The campers will depart at 1 p.m. on the last day of the camp. After the first day commuters should come at 8 a.m. Thurs - Sat. and can leave around 9 p.m. each day. Each commuter will be provided with lunch and dinner. Additional information such as time schedules will be emailed to all registered campers. REQUIRED FORMS (can be found online at www.calvulcans.com - click on “Camps” under ATHLETIC DEPT.) • Parental Permission Form for persons under 18 years of age which includes a health physical • Informed Consent release and assumption of risk for all performers FEES The total cost, which includes instruction, lodging and camp t-shirt, is $375 for overnight camper and $300 for commuter camper. Meals are also included. Camp enrollment is limited so early registration is strongly recommended. Each school with 3 or more registered campers will receive a $25 discount per camper.
