Training Programme In 1852, the V&A was established as a new kind of museum, with a core mission to educate both the creative practitioners and the general public by sharing knowledge and expertise on best practice in art and design. Today, the V&A continues to push the boundaries of what a museum’s role is in the modern world, while seeking new ways to educate, innovate, and inspire. The V&A International Training programme, part of V&A Learning Academy, aims to build on this educational vision by sharing our experience and expertise with museum professionals in every country. The training and development of personnel are some of the most important investments an arts institution can make, creating opportunities for new initiatives, new ways of exploring the museum’s collections, and new ways of sharing with the world. Through our week-long intensive courses, museum professionals can learn not only from V&A experts, but also from each other, developing a strong global network of peers and colleagues, and creating new opportunities for themselves and their institutions. Each course includes both talks and hands-on workshops with the opportunity for participants to share examples of projects from their institutions that they could develop during and after the course. If you would like to discuss a course, have question about your application or would like to request a brochure in another language (brochures currently available in Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Spanish), please email us at
