Transfer Student Services
The Transfer Student Initiatives and Services office (TSIS) was created to assist and support transfer students making the transition to Binghamton after attending college elsewhere. The TSIS is a place where transfer students can go for mentoring, advice and advocacy. All transfer students are encouraged to use this office as their first point of contact while attending Binghamton.
Transfer Mentors
Consider signing up for a mentor. A mentor can answer your questions and help you meet others, get involved and navigate campus.

Housing
Every residential community offers hundreds of programs each semester to help you make new friends and meet new people. As a transfer you have the option to live off campus or on campus in one of our seven residential communities. Some communities have floors designated for transfers only, and others have special options such as a learning community, chemical free or quiet living. On-campus housing also offers apartment living.
Honor Society
Binghamton University founded its chapter of Tau Sigma, the national academic honor society for transfer students, in 2007. Transfer students are also eligible for all University, school and department honors opportunities and research opportunities.
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
Binghamton University awards several scholarships each fall semester to members of Phi Theta Kappa, an honor society for students at two-year U.S. or international schools. Selection is competitive, and to be considered, an application is required by March 15.
