Transitions in Pennsylvania Tree Fruit Production Comparisons of 2002 and 2008 Pennsylvania Orchard Statistics in the 2010 USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service, Pennsylvania Field Office Report
This publication is a synopsis of orchard statistical trends in the 2008 USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service survey compared to previous reports. Apple, tart cherry, and nectarine acreage has remained constant since the previous survey conducted in 2002, and peach, pear, and grape acreage has increased. The number of apple farms increased from 295 to 566, and apple tree density increased by 51%.
