Step 1 — Rear Wheel 

Stand behind your bike straddling the rear wheel and locate the brake calipers.



To lessen the tension on the brake wire, place one hand on each caliper and push them towards one another.

Step 2



Unhook the brake wire in the metal tube from the brake wire holder on the caliper in your left hand.

Find the quick release lever located on the wheel's fork.



Open the leaver 180 degrees from the locked position.



Spin the lever counterclockwise a few turns to loosen the pin while holding the opposite of the pin.

Pull the bike frame upward off the wheel fork to separate it from the rear wheel.



Remove the bottom chain from around the rear cassette on the wheel.

In reassembly, lay the top chain on the lowest gear on the rear cassette. Then follow the steps in reverse order beginning with step 3.
