22 confirmed cases • 5 adult cases (> 2 years of age) • 1 beef cow, Indiana, affected herd depopulated • 1 dairy cow, California, affected herd test and remove • 1 beef cow, direct to US slaughter from Canada • Led to detection of infected beef herd, Canada • 1 beef cow, Nebraska, herd of origin tested multiple times, no infected animals found • 1 dairy cow, California, herd confirmed in FY 2012 • 17 fed cattle cases (< 2 years of age) • 13/17 (76.5%) in Mexican origin feeder cattle • Chihuahua (4), Nuevo Leon (1), Tamaulipas (1), Durango (1), Veracruz (1) • 5 – Mexican origin, but without MX official ID • 4 – Investigation underway
