NCFC Youth Boys Development Academy Program 2018-2019 TRIAL PROCESS
Process Overview On behalf of the North Carolina FC Youth Boys Development Academy, we would like to announce the trial process for player evaluations and selections that will be used to form the BDA Program team rosters for the 2018-2019 Season. As a program, we feel that this new format allows for a more concise selection process that will lead to better evaluations of prospective players. For the North and South Division U12/U13/U14 age groups, as well as the Del Sol Division U12 age group, we will continue to hold formal Academy Trials in late April and Early May. These Academy Trials will be invitation only, per US Soccer Development Academy Rules, and will be comprised of approximately 30-40 players, per age group. Players will be invited into these trials based on the following criteria: training observation and evaluation, match observation and evaluation, recommendation from coaches/directors, as well as other means. After the first two trial sessions, the NCFC BDA Staff will re-evaluate the player pool and likely reduce the number of prospective players to progress the selection process in the the third and final trial. Communication to ALL involved players will take place in a timely fashion after the completion of the second trials. Final players selected will be notified on the evening May 8th (U12 N/S) and May 15th (U13/14 N/S).
Process Overview (cont.) For the Pro Division U15/U17/U19 age groups, we will no longer be holding formal Academy Trials as we have in the past. Instead we will be inviting players into our training environment over the course of selected dates that work with the players schedule. By bringing prospective players into these trainings it will allow our BDA Staff to evaluate within the BDA environment around players who are currently in the program. Players will be invited into training based on the following criteria: training observation and evaluation, match observation and evaluation, recommendation from coaches/directors, as well as other means. For players in our current BDA program, their future status entering the 2018-2019 season will be based on the following criteria: their individual play over the course of the 2017-2018 season, forecasted team compositions within the program, and other factors. During the 10 month season, players are consistently evaluated by the collective program coaching staff. Final players selected will be notified on the evening May 20th (U15/17/19 PRO).
