Application Guidelines 1. Please enclose in letter form, written to the Interview Committee, why you would like to serve on the YMC. Letters must be typed, double spaced, and two to three pages maximum. As you write this letter, you may want to focus on the following: a. Describe the ways you are and will continue to be involved in your church. b. Describe what you think it means to be a Christian. c. Describe your most significant Christian experience. d. Describe TBA youth events which have been significant to you and why. e. Touch on your hobbies, interests, and talents. f. Describe your hopes, dreams, and goals. g. What gifts do you bring that would make you an effective Representative? This letter is a way for the Interview Committee to get to know you and begin to see what ministry gifts you could offer to the YMC.
2. A letter of recommendation from a minister of your church is also required and is due on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 3 p.m., the same deadline as the youth application. Also due on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 3 p.m. is the “TBA Youth Ministry Council Acknowledgement of YMC Representative Responsibilities” checklist signed by all parties. 3. The YMC Selection Day is on Saturday, March 28, 2015. You will be contacted with details. 4. If selected, you must attend all YMC meetings, CYF Conference, and CYLS. These events are mandatory for all YMC. (See summer camp dates below. Meeting dates to be determined.) This form, attached to the applicant’s letter, must be filled out and returned to the Area Office by Monday, March 23, 2015 at 3 p.m.! To be fair to everyone, late applications will not be accepted.
