Dear Mr. Whitlock, Thank you very much for sending me the file on the Whitlock family. I am glad to see that you now have more new information, and that you have been able to use that information to connect certain members of the family. As I told you earlier, I have access to the Newberry Library in Chicago, and I hope to get there on my rare days off. I did go recently and found some relevant information. I told you that I had problems connecting a couple of Whitlocks buried in Wayne County, Iowa. The Sarah G. Whitlock was the first wife of Rev. William A. Whitlock (1852-1929), while R(aympnd). Elisha was their son. died He was born 20 his MarchbirthJ 188~and(I couldn't died 11 August 1881f infant His mother soon after get the name of the cemetery, but I can get it on a later trip. I do know it is an old, small cemetery.) Elmer and Earnest Whitlock are buried at New York Cemetery near Millerton, while Marion Whitlock is buried in Corydon Cemetery. (His wife Ola and son Max are both still alive.) The rest (Joshua, Sarah, Ruth, Maggie, and Martha Jane Holliday) are buried in Promise City .. In addition, I found out that Joshua L. Whitlock fought in ~J~ the Iowa 9th Cavalry, Company D during the Civil War. William Kerran was in the same division; this is probably the same man that married Joshua's daughter Mary Ann. I also found a couple of items for your marriage records: 17 Mar 188~ 18 Jun 1886

Both of these marriages were in Wayne County, Iowa. I also researched Social Security records and found the following dates for the children of Hon. Amos L. Whitlock (1856-1957): John ..,.Whitlock Pearl DeLong Esther Bragg The following

You said you had California death records. Do they give where the person died? The interested relatives in question are George W. Sarah (Hellyer) Whitlock. Also, if you find any Missouri records pertaining to James Polk Whitlock, I would appreciate that as well. I am also interested in the whereabouts of Joshua Whitlock (and his father, Rev. John Whitlock) in 1850. I have been told that neither were in Tennessee at that time. And any information you have on the Mary Malinda Graves family of Coryell County, Texas would also be appreciated as well. Meanwhile, I will continue to search for more information on my end. I am looking forward to your response.
