Tyre Planters SET-UP HELP

Create your own simple planters in your outdoor area using car tyres.

Your local garage will possibly give them away for free as most garages have to pay collection companies to recycle their old tyres.

Resources

• old car tyres

• bowl of water & washing up liquid, sponge

• exterior paint

• paint brushes

• white spirit to clean brushes

• protective gloves to prevent covering your hands with paint!

Method

• Give the old tyres a wash down with water & washing up liquid to remove any grease. Alloy to dry thoroughly.

• Choose your painting design and associated colours.

• Give the tyres two coats of the base colour and allow 24hrs to dry.

• Paint your designs on top of the base colour and allow 24hrs to dry before filling with compost and planting in them.
