U11/U12 Week #4 Dribbling- Becoming the Attacker

Dribbling – Bring the Ball Back Grid - not needed

Have players move around the area without a ball. Encourage skipping, jumping etc… Then you take the ball and toss it into space. Players need to bring it back a variety of ways. Can progress to partners Coach can give more intricate directions as activity progresses. 3 touches, 10 touches etc.. Bring it back to the line.

Dribbling – 2 v 2 To End lines Grid 15 x 20 Yards

Split t The team into 2 groups The front 2 Players get around a cone and coach serves ball in, you can also have the next attacker pass ball in 2 v 2 - try to dribble over the end line with the ball under control

Encourage them to attack a defender Work with your partner to create 1 v 1 situations. Communicate Immediate Pressure on the ball when defending

Passing/Receiving – Clean Your Yard Grid 20 x 25

Split the players into 2 groups. Players kick/pass/throw-in balls to other half of the grid. Players MUST control the ball before they send it back to the other teams half. Play short rounds, the team with the fewest balls in their half wins.

Possible Coaching Points

Get behind the ball and control it. Move your feet, avoid reaching for the ball. Be creative, use various body parts to control the ball. Look for empty areas in other teams half to serve ball into.
