U13/U14 Week #2 Dribbling- Comfort on the Ball

Dribbling – Ball Tag Grid 15 x 15

All players need a ball Pass ball into others feet to “Tag” them Must hit other players with ball knees or below or else you will take a quick break You can also play in teams

Use all parts of the foot. Can they learn to pass to where an opponent will be.

Guided Question - Can You Be Sneaky about Where You Are Going To Pass? I Wonder If We Always Have To Look Where We Are Going To Pass?

Dribbling – Gates 1 v 1 Gates – 1 more than players present

Put the players in pairs. One ball per group. The players will play 1 v 1 against each other. If the attacker loses the ball, they become the defender. Keep track of gates.

Where is your defender giving pressure. Can you escape your defender? Transition from defense to attack quickly.

Guided Question – I wonder what you should do if you lose the ball to your defender?

Dribbling – Get Out Of Here! Grid 20 x 25 Yards

Split the group in to 2 teams. Have the groups stand on either side of coach. Coach serves ball and send in 1 v 1 to 3 v 3. If a team scores, 2 new teams. If ball goes out of bounds yell “Get Out Of Here!” Send in a new group. Can adjust were they start from (sides, end lines)

Aggressive to win initial ball. Work hard to win ball back defensively. Protect the goal with body position. Work as a group when 2 v 2 or larger.
