Whitnall Youth Fastpitch Fall Ball Rules Field Location: Schoetz Park 5201 S. 116th St. Hales Corners, WI 53130 Schoetz Park is located on 116th between Edgerton and Grange. Rules: We will play under the ASA Rules. The following exceptions apply: 1. Games are seven innings in duration. No inning may start after 1 hour and 20 minutes. If the time limit is up, no additional inning may start and the game will be a tie. 2. Roster limit is fourteen (14) players. Waiver forms should be turned into the Tournament Director prior
to the first game. Rosters can fluctuate from week to week provided that any additional players have signed the waiver form and that player is playing at their age group for the 2016 season. Managers should have access to birth certificates should the Tournament Director request them. Teams must carry their own insurance. Have your lineups ready ten minutes prior to the scheduled start of your game. All pitching substitutions should be reported to the umpires and your opposing team scorekeeper. Defensive changes do not need to be reported unless it involves a pitching change. 3. Teams must use the continuous batting order. If a player cannot continue play due to injury as determined by the umpire, when the player’s spot is up in the batting order, the team will not record an out for that batter and the player shall not be eligible to re-enter the game. If the player leaves for any other reason, when the player’s spot is up in the batting order, the team shall record an out for that player. 4. All batters and runners must wear a protective helmet. Catchers must wear headgear/mask and normal catching gear. 5. Only bats with the most current ASA and USSSA stamps are allowed. Bats with certification marks that are currently on the non-approved lists maintained by ASA and USSSA cannot be used. Any altered or damaged bat should not be used. Umpire has final say on any bat removed from games. 6. Two defensive conferences per game (no pitcher involved). A second visit to the mound in any inning and the pitcher must be changed. 7. You may run for the catcher or pitcher at any time during an inning. The runner should be the batter who made the last out.
8. No pre-game warm ups allowed on the infields. You may warm up in adjacent areas including the outfield as long as no games are going on. No batting practice against any fences. 9. Infield and outfield balls are permitted between innings. 10. A manager only may represent his team in conversations with the head umpire. Excess abuse or poor sportsmanship by players or fans may be grounds for a forfeit. An ejected player may not play any more games in the tournament. THERE ARE NO PROTESTS AS THE DECISIONS OF THE UMPIRES ARE FINAL. 11. A “Mercy Rule” is in effect. When one team is up by 15 runs or more after 3 innings, 12 runs after 4
innings or 8 runs after 5 innings, the game may be called. 12. U10 Teams will pitch from a distance of 35 feet. U12 teams will pitch from a distance of 40 feet.
