What I Learned Almost immediately after I began this class, I found myself examining devices I encounter at home and elsewhere with a critical eye. I was surprised that many of the devices are poorly designed. When I began the Time Bank project, I realized that it’s a challenge to integrate function with technology in a pleasing environment. I thought about project for days before I began the work. So, thinking about the Time Bank was important, but testing ithe design with users was more important. In that step I could determine where my concept diverged from a user’s concept of function. Because people can use the same device differently, it’s good practice to test a design with potential users.
