A man once bought a fire extinguisher. After a few years he threw it out figuring he didn’t need one because he had never used it. I wonder if some don’t appreciate the many volunteer hours spent by the members of the Uintah Fire Department preparing for the eventuality that there will be an emergency at their house because it hasn’t happened. It may be surprising how much it would cost each household in the City if there was no Uintah Fire Department. Check out how much each household in unincorporated Weber County pays to be a member of the Weber Fire District. You will find that they pay a great deal more than a household portion allocated to the Uintah Fire Department here in Uintah. Weber Fire District recognizes the value of the Uintah Fire Department. The City is not charged when Engine 64 responds to an emergency in Uintah because the Uintah Fire Department responds when needed to Weber Fire District emergencies. -Don Anderson-
