UMSL Men’s Golf Postseason Awards Ron Brewer UMSL Men’s Golf MVP This award is given annually to the player who has contributed to the success of the team through his play on the course, leadership on the team and contribution to overall success of the program. The award is named in honor of UMSL Hall of Fame member Ron Brewer, who played four seasons from 1967-68 and from 1969-72. During his career, he was a four-time team MVP, played in three national championships and also struck the first shot in competition for UMSL Golf.

David Rhoads UMSL Men’s Golf Scholar-Athlete This award is given annually to a student-athlete who has performed at a high level in both the classroom and the golf course. The award is named in honor of UMSL Hall of Fame member David Rhoads, who was a two-time All-American and two-time Academic All-American. He also set many UMSL scoring records during his four-year career that still stand today.

Jim Niederkorn UMSL Men’s Golf Endowed Scholarship This award is named in honor of UMSL Hall of Fame coach Jim Niederkorn, who guided the program from the 1980-81 season through the 199798 season. He guided UMSL to back-to-back MIAA Conference championships in 1992 and 1993, leading UMSL to the NCAA Division II national tournament each of those years. Niederkorn coached UMSL’s first golf All-American, fellow inductee David Rhoads, and also coached two all-district players and six allconference golfers.
