SCHOOL UNIFORM 2014/15 We are proud of our school and proud of our students. We want our students to take a pride in themselves and their own appearance. That is why school uniform is compulsory at Northumberland Park Community School. Our uniform has been selected to be smart, affordable and practical. We will not let parents down by allowing students to attend school improperly dressed. If you help us by ensuring that your child is properly dressed in uniform, we will help you by ensuring that everybody else in Yr7 is as well.

All students must wear:        

Black blazer with school badge Purple jumper with school logo (optional) White shirt or blouse (with a collar) Plain black full length trousers or a plain black reasonable length skirt. Students may not wear jeans even if they are plain black ones. Socks; plain black, white or purple (tights to be worn with a skirt in skin colour only) Plain black shoes with a sensible heel. Students are not permitted to wear boots, or black canvas plimsolls at any time and may not wear trainers inside the building except for PE lessons Religious headwear must be plain purple, black or white A black coat is permitted but must not be worn in lessons. Students are not allowed to wear hooded tops or leather jackets (or leather-look jackets) to school at any time

The T-shirt, sweatshirt and jogging bottoms are to be purchased from the school only. The price of the T-shirt ranges from £3.50 to £4.00. The price of the sweatshirt is £6.50 and the price of the jogging bottoms is £6.50. Students are not allowed to wear jewellery during PE lessons. The school jumper and blazer can only be purchased from the Uniform shop on Northumberland Park Road. The price of the jumper ranges from £10.99 to £15.99. The price of the blazer ranges from £19.99 to £24.99. Trousers and skirts can be purchased at most leading retailers.

Jewellery: Only one pair of sleepers or small earrings may be worn. No rings or false nails are allowed for health and safety reasons for all students from Year 7 – Year 11. Body / facial piercing(s) are not allowed throughout the 5 years at NPCS. Students not in correct uniform will be sent home to change in all but the most exceptional circumstances.

SCHOOL EQUIPMENT It is very important that you have the correct tools for learning. Students are required to bring the following equipment to school each day:              

School bag School Diary Small dictionary Thesaurus A scientific calculator (not a basic calculator) 2 black or blue pens 2 green pens Pencils and a sharpener A set of colouring pencils (not felt tips or crayons) Pencil rubber A pair of compasses Ruler Protractor A reading book

All students must have an appropriate school bag with equipment for lessons, handbags are not be allowed in school. It is also helpful to have: Pritt Stick, English Dictionary, dual Language Dictionary (for students whose mother tongue is not English) French-English or Turkish English Dictionary (Depending on the language the student chooses to study). MOBILE PHONES MUST NOT BE SEEN DURING LESSON TIMES. IF SEEN, THEY WILL BE CONFISCATED.
