Robert Scheinfeld Universal Laws – Fact or Fiction August 2015
Welcome to another episode of The Ultimate Freedom Teachings video series. Welcome to another edition of Brutally Honest Tuesdays. Here’s my trademark opening for Brutally Honest Tuesdays. Are you ready? Are you sure? Are you ready? [fist pounding] Okay. There we go. Beginning with a little bit of oomph and aggressiveness you could say. This week, this could actually be a Friday Q&A or a Brutally Honest Tuesday, but I figured I would put it into Brutally Honest Tuesday for reasons that will probably be obvious to you in a couple of minutes. The question that I get an awful lot in one way, shape, or form is Robert, are there universal laws that govern everything that happens to us day-‐to-‐day? And the answer to the question is, which might surprise you, yes and no. Are there objective universal laws that are just there? They’re fixed in stone. They affect everybody. They’re immutable. You cannot overcome or suspend them. The answer to that question is no. There is no such thing as a universal law that is just the way it is and it affects everybody and everybody is at the mercy, so to speak, of that universal law. Are there stories, human game, human experience, where it appears as if a universal law is in operation and as if it is immutable, fixed, and affects particular people or a particular person? Yes. Let me give you an example to explain what I mean. It’s not a perfect example, but hopefully it will clarify what I mean. And again, I’m going to use an example you’ve probably heard me use before and I’m probably going to use again, which is the Harry Potter books, written by J.K. Rowling. You are probably aware that the books exist, and maybe you’ve read one or more. Or maybe you’ve watched a movie. Most people, not all, are aware of Harry Potter. In the Harry Potter stories, which are fiction, which are fantasy you could say, there’s magic. And in the magical world, things work a certain way. And in order to use magic, certain things must happen, and there are certain limits and rules and regulations and you could say laws that must be obeyed as it relates to the magical world. That affects everybody that’s in the magical world. It doesn’t affect the people that aren’t. It doesn’t affect the people that aren’t magical. And it’s all made up. It’s a fictional world in which there’s these magical laws that are in operation. It’s the same thing to my bias with our stories. Now, the thing about this though that gets a little bit more tricky is if I were to say to you or 1K people that are aware of this kind of thing, what are the universal laws that supposedly affect our lives? A lot of people would bring up the law of attraction, which I’ll talk about in another video, and I’ve indirectly talked about in some of the other videos in the series of Brutally Honest Tuesdays and Transcribed by www.trans-‐2.com

Friday Q&As. But the truth is there isn’t any list of 10 that everybody agrees on. There isn’t any universal description of this universal law, these 5-‐6-‐10-‐20-‐3, whatever. At least not that I’m aware of, maybe you are. But if you are aware of some, if you were go into Google or some other place, and type in, what are the universal laws that affect our lives, odds are you’d find a lot of confusion, disagreement, people that would say, here’s what they are. Other people would say, no, here’s what they are. There might be some in common. And they might completely collide and disagree with each other. So that’s another wrinkle. It’s a classic Phase One dynamic. If you’re not familiar with what I call Phase One, you’ll see a little banner on the screen right now. It’s a link you can go to on my website to get a free training that will explain what I mean by Phase One and a lot of other things that I’ll be talking about. It’s a classic Phase One thing. That there are these universal laws, but nobody can agree on what they are. Some people say it’s this and some people say it’s this and some people say it’s these, but one will say this one works and someone will say, no-‐no-‐no, it doesn’t work that way. It woks this way. And you can’t get any agreement or clarity. So even if they were universal laws and they really did have immutable, fixed, whatever effect on us, what are they? There’s no clarity on that anyway. So that’s another reason why there aren’t. All of our stories, and I’ve talked about this in different ways. I’ve talked about it as mission and purpose. I’ve talked about in theme and stories and what your life is about, what your story is about. If the appearance of a universal law, whatever it might be, even if you’re the only person on the plane that knows about it, if there is the appearance of what’s called a universal law, and it’s just the way it is, and it’s about some aspect of the human experience, if it is part of your story for you to be aware of that universal law or 5 universal laws, whatever it is, and for them to appear to work a certain way in your life, they will. Your whole life or part of your life, whatever. And if it’s not part of your story, just like magic is not part of everyone’s story. In the Harry Potter stories, there’s other things. And what we would call science fiction and fantasy. If you were go to a bookstore, go to Amazon, there are other universes and worlds and stories where certain things apply and certain things don’t. There are certain rules, certain laws, certain whatevers. If it’s important to your story for there to be an awareness of such a thing as a universal law and for it to affect you in a certain way every time, all the time, or there to be confusion or Phase one dynamics, the it will appear. And if it’s not, it’s not. It’s raw material for stories. It’s raw material from which amazing human game experiences can be created and stories can unfold with particular things and raw material to build interesting stories.

Just like every story has raw material as a foundation on which the story is built and on which the story then unfolds. Certain rules, regulations, laws, realities, situations, factors, whatever. So universal laws, however they are defined, however they appear to work, whether they appear to work all the time or not, whatever it is, if it appears in the story, and by the way it doesn’t in most. Take the example of my father. Take the example of my brother. Take the example of my mother. Just to talk about my family. If you were to talk to them about universal laws, they wouldn’t have any idea what you’re talking about. It’s completely irrelevant to their story. If you were to talk to me as early as my 20s I would have had an idea that such a thing might have existed. It was part of my story for that to be on my radar. I couldn’t have told you what they are and how they work, like I said. If you were to talk to my sister at a certain point in her life and say, do you know what universal laws are and do you think they affect your life? She was aware of them and could have told you certain things. But the vast majority of the people on the planet have no idea of the concept or what they are, whether it’s affecting their lives or not. And there are people that believe in universal laws that would say, well, you don’t need to know about it. You don’t need to agree with it. You don’t need to believe in it. Universal laws are universal laws. They’re affecting you whether you know or agree with them or not. And I’m not going to go there. It doesn’t matter. What I’m trying to say is if it’s important for there to be awareness of it, if it’s important for them to have power or limiting ability over you, they’ll appear in your story. If not, not. But all it is is a building block for a unique experience. It’s a possible explanation of how things can work in a unique story, in a unique game of a unique character in a unique story unfolding in a unique way. If it’s useful, if it supports the unfolding of a unique story, yes, universal laws appear to be real, appear to be true, and appear to work the way they do. But it doesn’t have to be that way. It’s just raw material. And what I call the Writer, what you might call the Creator, who you really are, what I used to refer to as consciousness or expanded self, has the ability to make a universal law appear, not appear, operate this way, operate that way, not operate that way at all. It’s just raw material, building blocks for stories. But it’s not objectively true. It isn’t the way it is. It doesn’t affect everybody. And it doesn’t operate, my bias, the way the stories tell you that it does. Okay, that’s Brutally Honest Tuesdays for this week. If you love it, hate it, disagree with it, think I’m nuts, crazy, horrible, awful, evil, whatever, I welcome your comments below this video wherever you’re looking at it. And if you find this useful, supportive, interesting, thought-‐provoking, Transcribed by www.trans-‐2.com
