Transfer Credits •UNCW can accept only 64 hours of transfer credit from 2 year institutions. •UNCW can accept only a total of 93 semester hours of transfer credit from regionally-accredited four-year institutions.
•A minimum of 31 semester hours must be earned at UNCW of which at least 15 must be upper division courses, in your major.
Tuition Surcharge • 50% tuition surcharge for more than 140 credit hours to complete a baccalaureate degree in a four-year program • Includes hours at degree-seeking institution and on hours accepted for transfer

Academic Honor Code • Intellectual honesty is the foundation of everything we do at UNCW

Class Attendance and Grading • Instructors set the specific attendance and grading policies for their own courses.

Review syllabus for policies and grade distribution You must attend the first day of class to avoid being dropped Regular class attendance is expected of every student Professors are not required to post grades until the end of the
semester and may not use Blackboard gradebook. Keep track of your grades.
• At UNCW, instructors may grade using pluses and minuses.
Course Withdrawal Students are limited to 16 hours of withdrawals – become WF after 16. Withdrawal from a course before the deadline = “W” Withdrawal from a course after the deadline = “WF” (calculates as an “F” in GPA).
Withdrawal deadline: Fall 2016 – October 10 Withdraw from an individual class or classes through SeaNet. Withdraw from all courses through SeaPort. ALWAYS consult your advisor before you withdraw from a course.
Course Repeat Policy Students who earn less than a C (2.0) in a course may only retake that course at UNCW to replace the grade Three different courses may be repeated to replace low grades
Original grades remain on transcripts but are not included in the grade point calculation
Academic Eligibility and Academic Probation Eligibility / Dismissal: 2.0 overall GPA required by end of each Spring semester. If below 2.0, will be declared academically ineligible and dismissed for two semesters. Ineligible students may attend Summer School at UNCW to regain eligibility for the Fall w/ 2.0.
Academic Probation: If GPA falls below 2.0 cumulative GPA – Fall • Noted on transcript • Limited to 14 hours in next term • Will not be academically dismissed • May have conditions to meet during Spring Term GPAs below 1.0 or 0.0, policies per each college/school.

UNI 201: Transfer Seminar UNI 201 is 3 credit, elective seminar-style course that supports transfer students in their transition to UNCW. Students earn 6 hours towards graduation – 3 hours Information Literacy and 3 hours Writing Intensive Competencies. Students will leave UNI 201 with: • Academic and career plan • Résumé and cover letter • Academic strategies and skills • Knowledge of campus resources, opportunities, and policies • Library and research skills • Community with other transfer students To register, search for “University College” and select UNI 201.
