Small Group Study Guide (for the week of 1/24/16)
6.
Read and write Mark 5:19-20. What has Jesus told you to do? Share with the group how you have done this.
7.
Read and write 1 John 1:5-10. These verses have been chosen to represent Transparent Relationships. Personalize these verses and their meaning as they relate to Transparent Relationships or Displaying Hope.
8.
Spiritual Strength; getting help. Ephesians 3:15-21 is a wonderful prayer that reminds us that we cannot do anything on our own and that we need to seek help on our faith journey. Read and write Ephesians 3:15-21. As you’ve reflected on your own journey, has the Holy Spirit revealed areas where you need help? Write where it is that you sense you need help and share it as a prayer request with your group.
Quick Review Last week during your group time you reviewed the highlights from Pastor John’s Necessary Endings messages and then spent time discussing Winning the Lost; the center of our Unstoppable Grace discipleship cycle. This week we will look at how your faith journey relates to Unstoppable Grace. Getting Started 1.
Share with each other where you saw God in your life this past week.
2.
Look over your 8-15 oikos card. Did God give you an opportunity to touch one of them this week? Share with the group what you were able to do for one, two or more on your card, i.e. prayer, conversation, building rapport, directing them towards Christ, sharing your own story, extending an invitation to join you at church or to your home for a meal.
3.
Briefly share how you came to Grace Church of Glendora.
Taking it Home 9.
Pastor John has been asking the question “I love my church because…” Share with your group what you love about your church and what you are looking forward to experiencing at Grace in 2016.
10. In closing your group time, pray for Grace Church of Glendora. Digging Deeper Referencing the Unstoppable Grace Cycle on the back page lets walk through it and see how it relates to your personal faith journey. 4.
Starting at the center of Win The Lost, reflect on your own life, do you remember being there? Read and write out 1 Corinthians 9:19-23 on a separate sheet of paper. Who reached out to you?
5.
Coming out of Win The Lost you naturally move to Your Next Steps With God. Read and write Galatians 2:20. Describe what those next steps were for you.
