UNSW Admissions Procedures and Arrangements for Streamlined Visa Processing (SVP) -
Full Degree Only (Undergraduate and Postgraduate Coursework) Research, Study Abroad, Exchange and Sponsored students: please refer to Notes on Page 2
Process Step 1: Applicant applies online or by paper directly to UNSW or through an official representative. Application received by Direct Admissions and assessed by Program Authority. Step 2: Qualified Applicant issued Offer Letter (Full or Conditional). Applicant commences Acceptance Procedures as per Offer Letter and completes Checklist for Streamlined Visa Process (SVP) and required financial documentation for UNSW. Step 3: Applicant returns Checklist to UNSW along with evidence that they satisfy at least one of the criteria outlined below. Checklist will be attached to student file. A:
Any certified Australian bank statement – less than 3 months old Minimum AUD$15,000 in bank Plus: Standard deposit of AUD$4,000 to UNSW (or as per detailed on offer letter) Standard deposit to UNSW Foundation Studies (if packaged offer) Standard deposit to UNSW Institute of Languages (if packaged offer) Bank Statement should be certified or officially notarised by a Notary Public or Justice of the Peace (JP). Official representatives of UNSW may certify bank statements. Bank Statement should be in either applicant’s name or that of a close relative. Relationship to close relative must be clearly identified.
B:
Any certified Offshore bank statement – less than 3 months old Minimum AUD$40,000 (or equivalent in home currency) in bank Plus: Standard deposit of AUD$4,000 to UNSW (or as per detailed on offer letter) Standard deposit to UNSW Foundation Studies (if packaged offer) Standard deposit to UNSW Institute of Languages (if packaged offer) Certified bank statement sent to UNSW or to UNSW Representative for verification, along with verifiable foreign exchange rate from the same bank that meets the AUD$40,000 equivalency. Exchange rate must be date stamped within 14 days of receipt by UNSW Direct Admissions. Bank Statement should be in either applicant’s name or that of a close relative. Relationship to close relative must be clearly identified.

DIAC may contact the University to verify applicant’s financial sufficiency and that Genuine Temporary Entrant checks taken. Visa issued by DIAC. Step 6: Enrolment procedures begin. Applicant requested to pay for remainder of first semester fees
Notes: 1. Sponsored students who are being funded by an approved UNSW sponsor will not need to satisfy the financial requirements listed above. Sponsored students should follow the Sponsored Student Registration and Application Process available at: www.international.unsw.edu.au/living-sydney/visas/. The sponsored student agreement form, the financial guarantee letter and the attached checklist should be sent to the Sponsored Student Team email address:

Ford Direct Lending program or the Department of Veterans Affairs may not need to satisfy the financial requirements above if they can provide supporting documentation which confirms they have applied to and are eligible for sufficient funding in the above programs.
