TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE Symptom

Probable cause

No hot water Electricity not on or one of the supplies has failed

Remedy Check electricity supply.

Plumbing crossover Test by turning cold water supply off to the hot water generator, then open hot water at one of the outlet. No water should flow, if water is flowing then you might have plumbing crossover that needs to be corrected for the unit to operate properly. Water flow rate is less than required minimum.

Increase water flow rate.

The flow sensor is not working

Turn off the power, open the unit and verify the flow sensor not obstructed by debris.

Temperature setting Verify the temperature is too low setting. The inlet water Reduce the flow rate. temperature has dropped considerably There might be restrictions in the plumbing

Water supply pressure too low

IR-260POU new point-of-use hot water heater were designed for safety, dependability, reliability and economy to provide maintenance-free continuous hot water for many years, while being the most environmentally friendly. IR-260POU Tankless hot water heater do not store water like a conventional tank-type water heater. It contains multiple high powered quartz heating tube elements that are capable of heating water “on-demand” and continuously as needed, so you will never have to worry about running out of hot water again. IR-260POU working principle and design are simple. When the power is turned on, the microprocessor will check the temperature sensor and current leakage sensor, if they are not errors, the hot water generator is ready to work. When you open the hot water valve, the flow sensor activates at a minimum water flow. The flow sensor sends the information to the temperature controller to begin modulating the heating elements to heat the water as it passed through the quartz heating tubes and to maximize efficiency. If the water flow rate exceeds the maximum heating capacity of the unit, the unit will reach a maximum achievable temperature (within a few degrees of the set temperature). When a reduction in the excessive hot water flow rate is made, the unit will achieve and maintain the set point temperature. When the fixture is closed, the demand stops, the flow sensor sends information to the controller to turn off the power to the quartz heating elements. The unit remains in it standby mode until the demand for the hot water is needed. A convenience circuit breaker is provided to manually turn ON/OFF the unit.

Included Parts List:

Water (adjust) valve 3’ cord (already attached) Wall Mount bracket Screws

Only qualified personnel should install this unit.

Do not use if unit is damaged. Do not use if cord is frayed or damaged.

Start Up:

A 0.5 gpm faucet aerator is required for proper performance.

1) Before start up, check that all connections are secure and fittings are tight.

All work should be done by a licensed plumber.

2) Make sure that the power button “OFF” position - No display.

Attention: Inlet pipes are marked with blue tag while outlet pipe is marked with red tag.

3) Open the gate valve at the incoming water point of the unit and verify no leaks.

A stop valve/water shutoff valve should be installed on the inlet side for disconnection and maintenance purposes.

4) Open faucet above and allow water to run for 1 minute or until all air is purged from the system.

Note: It is not recommend to use a water restrict valve on the cold water inlet side to restrict water flow into the unit. This might damage the unit if used.

5) With the water running, use the power button to turn “ON” the unit. The water begins to heat and the current temperature is shown in the display.

Supply pipe should be able to withstand a minimum of 100 PSI and 65 degrees Celsius. (149 degrees Fahrenheit)

6) Choose a desirable temperature by pressing the buttons Up/Down until you have a comfortable water temperature.

Electrical Connection:

7) Turn off water and unit wil be in standby mode.

All work should be completed by a licensed contractor.
