OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS How to cut cable: 1. Position the UpperCut with the movable blade (1) facing towards you. 2. Fully open handle (4) until it stops (handle will engage internal cam). 3. Rotate movable blade (1) clockwise or counter clockwise until it is free of the fixed blade (2), and blade release switch (3). 4. Place cable to be cut against the fixed blade (2) and rotate movable blade (1) clockwise (listening for ratchet sounds) until it is snug against the cable, and has fully engaged the blade release (3). 5. Open and close handle (4) repeatedly (listening for ratchet clicks) until cable is cut. 6. To release cable before cut is complete: a. Fully retract the telescoping handles (4) if extended. 2
b. Open handle (4) until blade release switch (3) disengages movable blade (1). c. Rotate blade (1) counter clockwise releasing the cable. 7. For maximum cutting power, extend the telescoping handles: a. Firmly grasp handle (4) and blade pivot bolt (5). b. Pull one handle at a time away from blades until it stops. Twist the handle to lock it. NOTE: When cutting cable the blades should be perpendicular to the conductor to avoid unnecessary “side load” to the blades.
