USD 365 Kansas Suicide Prevention Training
Jason Fla) Act (SB 323) • The Jason Fla) Act requires the board of educa=on of each school district to provide at least one hour of training each calendar year of suicide awareness and preven=on programming to all school staff. • A building crisis plan developed for each school building, including steps for recognizing suicide idea=on, appropriate methods of interven=ons, and a crisis recovery plan. • The bill requires each school district to no=fy parents or legal guardians of students that the training materials are available. • The bill requires the State Board to adopt rules and regula=ons necessary to implement the Jason Fla) Act by January 1, 2017.
