INTRODUCTION This manual should give the reader sufficient knowledge to use and operate any pneumatic system in this deliverance. PERFORMANCE TEST PROCEDURE - P000050FO01

Caution: Before pressurize the system ensure the door is closed! Working pressure If necessary adjust the working pressure to the value according to the door schedule by pressure reducer. Operating via actuator on door leaf Start the door by operating the door handle. If necessary adjust the opening speed respectively closing speed by throttle non-return valve. The opening time is to be adjustable by time control valves. By this the door drive system releases the door leaf by releasing cylinder, opens and closes the door in a convenient way. Operating via actuator surround the door Start the door by operating one of the actuators. The open time for the door is adjustable on time control valve. By this the door drive system releases the door leaf by releasing cylinder, opens and closes the door in a convenient way. Air spring function For testing the air spring function close the shut-off valve for air spring. By this the air spring function is initiated. This means that the door can be slowly opened by hand and closes automatically by means of the air spring function. The motion of opening as well as the closing motion can be influenced by throttle non-return valve. Caution: The safety strip on door leaf is out of function! Fire safety function For testing the fire safety function open the door and the test valve. By this the fire safety valve is shutting off the supply line. At the same time the door closes automatically by air spring function after the system pressure decreases to shut down pressure. Caution: The safety strip on door leaf is out of function! Manual mode For testing the manual usability close the shut-off valve for manual operation and operate the door leaf by door handle. After testing ensure all the valves are set to normal mode.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS - P000050HB01 The normal position of the door drive cylinder is extended, i.e. the door is closed. On operating the door handle, the safety strip or one of the actuators the door is released by means of the releasing cylinder and opens via door drive cylinder. After the opening time has elapsed the door closes automatically. If the safety strip, mounted at the door leaf, is touched, the door opens again and avoids a jamming-in of persons. In case of air spring function this safety strip is out of function! For the air spring function close the shut-off valve for air spring. By this the door can be opened by door handle only, but closes automatically. For the manual usability close the shut-off valve for manual operation and operate the door by door handle. Fire safety: Fire safety valve FSV-120 and the temperature feelers FSV-1 guarantee that the pneumatic door drive system is secured in case of fire under influence of heat in order to avoid the danger of an eventual self reversing. Before exceeding the permissible operation temperature for pneumatic door drive systems the temperature feelers FSV-1 react. The response of the temperature feelers causes, via fire safety valve FSV-120 and special pressure valve, the air supply to the drive cylinders is shutting off and at the same time the air reservoir is exhausted in a controlled way. The still existing rest pressure of the air reservoir closes via pressure reducer, non-return valve and shut-off valve for air spring an open door, because the special pressure valve switched over to air spring mode.

Caution: After operating in manual mode ensure the door is closed before reset it to normal function!

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS – 314146HD01 Monthly should: - piston rods and greasing nipples be greased, using RB recommended grease. - the air reservoir be drained. Three-monthly or max. 10,000 cycles should: - the filter/non-return valve be cleaned. - the safety strip be checked for function. - the function of the fire safety valve FSV-120 be checked. - the open function via hold open actuator be checked. - the emergency valves be function tested. - the remaining actuators be checked for function.

Note: Some of the listed points are not part of every system. See the door related FLOW SHEET for availability.

Caution: after maintenance ensure that the door is closed and the normal functions are re-established!

FAULT FINDING PROCEDURE – 314146K01 On malfunction of the door drive system first look for any obstacles in the door opening range and check the system for any damages especially the temperature feelers. The door does not open - Check if the supply line is not separated. - Check if the system is supplied with compressed air. - Check the working pressure. - Check if test valve is closed. - Check temperature feelers incl. connection til fire safety valve for leakages and eliminate them, if necessary. - Check if manual operation is not activated. - Check if the throttle non-return valve for opening speed is not total closed. - Check if the inset door is closed. The door does not open completely - Check if time control for opening time at active cylinder and open time are adjusted long enough. (see PERFORMANCE TEST PROCEDURE) The door does not close - Check if the door opening valve is switched into function. - Check if the hold open actuator is released. - Check if the time control for opening time at active cylinder is closed. The system faults are not to be eliminated - Ask your RB-trained personnel for assistance.
