USF Sarasota-Manatee Student Government Association Executive Branch 8/20/2013 C0306
Members in Attendance: Todd Hughes, J.D. Lotz, Mathew Ward, Kyle Kern, Murray Devine, John Noe, Christopher Mowry. Absent: Jessica Jensen Student Services Members in Attendance: None for 8/20. Guest(s): Audrey Dayton-Kehoe, Kendra Simpkins, Manuel Bass, Zachary Stroup, Carl T. Peterson, Jonathan Campbell, Broc Fernandez. Call to Order: Called to order by Todd Hughes at 3:00pm. Amendments to the Meeting Agenda: J.D. motions to approve. Mathew seconds. Approved via unanimous vote. Amendments to the Meeting Minutes: Mathew motions to approve. Kyle seconds. Approved via unanimous vote. President and Vice-President Updates: J.D. informs us that there will be a meeting with Dr. Guilford tomorrow (8/21) at 2:00pm. This meeting will be more of a meet and greet for the members of the Executive Board and Dr. Guilford. Thursday most members will be out of the office for freshmen orientation. Last week there was an incident involving the rowing boats being taken off school property and moved over to New College. At this time, Rowing Club is not recognized as an active club due to a failure to properly file paper work. Facilities management has been informed that Student Government authorization will be required to use the boats in the future. Branch Updates: Kyle-Legislative Branch will not be meeting to discuss the R.O.P. this week. This issue has been table temporarily. The Senate had a productive Senate meeting last Friday. Zachary-Judicial is still working on handling the parking appeals process. The next Judicial summit will be Friday September 6th. Carl-The new shirts will are ready and will be handed out at W.O.W. Murray-Will be setting a fixed schedule for his availability. Still needs a camera. Advisor Updates: None for 8/20. Old Business: None for 8/20. New Business: Todd sent out a doodle to determine the best time for the Executive Branch to meet after the start of the fall semester. The Executive Branch will now meet on Wednesdays at 4:00pm starting 9/4/2013.
Todd announces that there will not be a meeting next week due to it being the first week of class. The issue of club members and attendance is brought up, the Executive Board needs to determine what numbers allows a club to qualify. It is agreed that for now, it will be four officers and one member but this issue will need to be revisited in January. Kyle motions to table this issue. Christopher seconds. The issue is tabled. Open Floor: Audrey informs the Executive Board that there are issues with insurance for events. Some groups will need to request coverage for events in the future. Check with Darren Gambrell about requesting the additional coverage. It may also be up to the Senate to determine. A deadline must be determined for Clubs to turn in their information.
