Using The Windows App For fast and reliable access to your ECHO Favorites, use the ECHO Windows App. The ECHO Windows app allows you to locally cache your Favorites, insuring smooth playback. Here’s how to get started with the app. 1. Log into ShowECHO.com, and click the “Download the Windows App” banner on the right to download the installation file. 2. When finished, run the installer, and follow the on-screen instructions.

3. Once installed, launch the ECHO Windows app. Enter your login info - the same that you use on ShowECHO.com - and click Login. You can check off the “Remember Me” box to skip this step in the future.

4. The local app shows all of your Favorites, including quick access to any Favorited collections on the sidebar.

Using The Windows App NEW: Upon first launch of the ECHO Windows app, you’ll be asked if you wish to sync all of your favorites, or to Sync the content later. To download a single asset to your PC, click the asset, and then click the Sync icon which appears in the center. Depending on the size of the asset being synced and your internet speed, the download time will vary. An asset only needs to be synced once. You may also choose to Sync All by clicking the Sync button in the upper left.

Unsynced Asset

Once your media is synced, click the asset to bring up the playback options. The Play button (center) will play the asset once. The Waiting Room button (bottom left, looks like a TV) allows for looped, full-screen playback. Additionally, you can choose to “Resync” the asset (if you’ve made changes to a playlist for example) using the bottom center icon, or edit the asset by clicking the cog icon in the lower right. During playback, there are a number of on screen controls available, which replicate those seen on ShowECHO.com.

Synced Asset

You can skip forwards and backwards in a playlist, play/pause, or use the Media Scrubber to navigate to a specific part of an asset as it plays back. Additionally, you can control the volume, turn subtitles and notes on/off, toggle Slideshow mode, and share the presentation directly from the player. These controls can also be accessed via the following keyboard shortcuts: Spacebar - Play/Pause N - Notes On/Off M - Media Tray Open/Close Left Arrow - Replay asset Left Arrow 2x - Go back to prior asset Right Arrow - Play next asset

Using The Windows App During standard playback, you can draw at any time by clicking on the screen during media playback, and dragging the mouse. You can change your default drawing settings via the drawing mode menu. To clear your drawing, right-click with the mouse. Clicking Done, or tapping your keyboard’s space bar will resume playback. When you choose Waiting Room playback, looped, full-screen playback of the chosen asset begins. If you are using a multiple display system, you can select the monitor to display the Waiting Room player using the Display Settings menu. When in use, a second, smaller player (similar to the standard playback mode player) will appear on the opposite monitor. You can use this player to change the playback settings, and even end playback, just by closing that window. NEW: With version 1.1 of the ECHO app, you can now set an ECHO playlist to act as your screensaver, displaying any time the computer is idle. First, click your name in the app window, then click Screen Saver. This will open the Windows Screen Save dialogue. Choose Echo from the list of screen savers, then click Settings to choose which Playlist you would like to serve as the Screen Saver. Once highlighted, click OK to set the Screen Saver playlist. From then on, your selected ECHO playlist will serve as your screen saver, playing whenever the computer is idle.
