Below is the schedule and format for the 2014 USTA Zone Team Championships. Team Matches team match will consist of 6 singles matches and 3 doubles matches. -break sets -game pro sets with a 7-Point Tiebreak at 8 games all oubles matches will count one point each Event Schedule Team Arrival one (1) day before competition begins – July 2, 2014 from 12 pm – 4 pm *****TOURNAMENT CHECK-IN AND MEETINGS WILL BE HELD AT THE SORENSEN COURTS ON THE WMU CAMPUS**** Team Registration Coaches Meetings Team Meeting and team practice Player/Parent Seminars 7 pm Team Pictures Day one of competition (July 3, 2014): Singles play with 2 boy’s doubles, 2 girl’s doubles and 2 mixed doubles (positions 1 & 4 for mixed) Day two of competition (July 4, 2014): Singles play with 2 boy’s doubles, 2 girl’s doubles and 2 mixed doubles (positions 2 & 5 for mixed)
Day three of competition (July 5, 2014): Singles play with 2 boy’s doubles, 2 girl’s doubles and 2 mixed doubles (positions 3 & 6 for mixed) Day four of competition July 6, 2014): Singles play with 3 boy’s doubles and 3 girl’s doubles (no mixed play) Fifth day doubles added after determining schedule for fifth day Practice schedule optional Day five of competition (July 7, 2014): Singles only for final day of competition Closing ceremonies Departure (not before 2pm)
Match Scoring Each singles, doubles, and mixed doubles match counts for one point. The total possible points earned in a Team Match is 18 points. The team that wins the most points wins the Team Match. If the Team Match score is tied 9-9, the coach of each tied team shall designate one boy and one girl from their team to play a mixed doubles 10-Point Match Tiebreak to determine the Team Match Winner.
