ALTA/USTA League Play Policy 1. All court bookings for ALTA and USTA league play will be managed by the SSTC ALTA/USTA coordinator. 2. Teams using SSTC as their home courts will be required to reserve a spot for the season with a deposit. Teams will pay for home match courts a few weeks prior to the start of the season. This allows SSTC to book match courts for the team ahead of public bookings. 3. Team registration and reservations for home courts are done by the team captain online at leagues.bluesombrero.com/sandyspringstennis. Payment is required in full at the time of registration. 4. Match fees are based on the number of lines played by a league. Regular adult leagues pay for 5 lines of play per match. Senior leagues generally pay for3 or 4 lines of play depending on the league. 5. A 3rd court may be given at the request of the team captain on the day of the team match. Counter staff will not reserve a 3rd court ahead of the team match day. If the team wants a guaranteed 3rd court, they must book online and pay the regular court fee at the time of the booking. 6. There are no refunds given if a team fields fewer than the league designated number of lines for a match. 7. In case of a rain out, teams will schedule individual make up matches. All make up matches are scheduled for 2 hours. Per ALTA/USTA rules, players may play over the 2 hours until their match is complete. 8. Players on an SSTC home team are not charged for makeup matches since their team has already paid for the courts. 9. If players from a team that does not use SSTC as its home courts schedule a makeup match at SSTC, they will be charged for the courts at the regular open play rate. 10. Teams who choose to have team coaching or practice at SSTC will be required to sign up for a minimum of 7 weeks of coaching sessions or practices and must pay in full prior to the start of the season. The team captain must make arrangements with an SSTC pro ahead of sign up. 11. Registration for coaching and practice sessions is done online by the team captain. Payment in full is due at the time of registration.
