UWEC Student Organization Opportunity Fund Application
Dear Student Organization, Thank you for expressing interest in and applying for funding from the Student Organization Opportunity Fund. Please note that this fund is supported by generous donations to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation. This fund is intended to benefit UW-Eau Claire student organizations by providing the support they need for a variety of activities. This money is intended for the purposes of benefitting the members of your organization, UW-Eau Claire students, faculty, staff and/ or the Eau Claire community at large. Possibilities for uses of this funding include fundraising efforts, community service, projects, programs, activities, travel, seminars, conferences, and supplies. Priority will be given to: Projects, events, and activities that emphasize diversity and inclusivity Organizations that have limited ability to obtain additional funding from other sources Applications that are clearly and neatly written Applications that address all questions and requirements Organizations with an updated OrgSync profile, including an updated constitution (within last 5 years) Because this fund is sponsored by donations, it is extremely important that you provide evidence and documentation as to how the allocated funds were spent. Requirements for documentation will be provided to you in detail should your organization receive funding. Please see the last page of this packet for additional responsibilities. Your organization will receive notification about your funding status within 2 weeks of the deadline. The applications will be reviewed by the Student Organizations Opportunity Fund Allocations committee, which is comprised of UWEC students, student senators and directors, and UWEC faculty and staff. Responsibilities of Organizations Granted Funds:
Any publicity or advertising of any medium for the activity/program/event being funded must include, “Sponsored by the Student Organization Opportunity Fund made possible through the UW-Eau Claire Foundation, Inc.”
Two weeks after the event/ final spending takes place:
The organization must submit an evaluation that includes a complete treasurer’s report with evidence (receipts, etc.) as to how the funds were spent. Please be prepared for this and keep all receipts and other items as necessary. Evaluations will be distributed with notification letters, should your organization be granted funding. A thank you note must be addressed and submitted to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation, 214 Schofield Hall .
My organization agrees to abide by the following policies: Organizations will not use funds collected from member dues, fees, or collaborative fundraising efforts, or The Student Organization Opportunity Fund to purchase alcohol that can only be consumed by members who are of legal drinking age and to purchase promotional materials for unofficial events that can only be attended by those of legal drinking age.
