Palacio de las Artes was opened in VANDEX SUPER 1.0 kg/m2
2005 as an important new part of the city Valencia in Spain. The architect Santiago Calatrava has created a unique building with noticeable contrasts in its design. The building is housing 4 theatres intended for opera, plays, dance and concerts.

The building is erected on former river bed area in the city of Valencia. Foundations and below ground levels obviously needed waterproofing against groundwater and protection against moisture.

Step 2: VANDEX SUPER is applied at a rate of 1.5 kg/m2 when the poured concrete has reached initial set which is when the concrete will carry the weight of a man without leaving a foot print deeper than 2 mm. VANDEX SUPER is sprinkled as dry powder with a sieve with a mesh size of 1 mm. As soon as the dry sprinkling has taken place the finishing operation by power trowelling can begin. Curing is with water for at least five days.

Step 3: Concrete to receive VANDEX SUPER must have a clean and open capillary system for better penetration of the active chemicals and maximum bonding. First apply VANDEX SUPER then repair/fill up with VANDEX UNI 1. Construction joints and cracks exceeding 0.3 mm shall be routed out to a minimum of 20 mm depth. Step 4: Application of two coats of VANDEX SUPER to the vertical walls at the rate of 0.75 kg/m2 each. Spread the material evenly and work it well into the surface. Apply the second coat whilst the first is still green. Curing for at least five days and kept wet the whole period.

The situation – Leaks: BP operates a large network of petrol stations in Poland. Manholes at the filling stations are frequently damaged or corroded allowing unwanted water ingress.
