News of our class Our exams are fast approaching. Everyone seems to be busy with their studies. We really would like to complete our lessons soon so that we can comfortably revise for the exams. In English we are about to complete an interesting story of an alien, a student and his stern maths teacher who gets a very strange punishment for denying the child his share of fairy stories. In Hindi we have to just complete grammar which we have already started. Talking about other subjects we have finished our course and we have started revision with revision worksheets. These are very helpful in reducing exam fear.
As we have been given the time table we are planning to chalk out a revision plan for exams. 20/9/12 – social science 22/9/12- science 24/9/12- Math 26/9/12- English 27/9/12- Sanskrit 28/9/12- Hindi
Book review Every time I go to the library, I am very delighted to read a new book. This time I read ‘Esio trot’ by Roald Dahl. The main character is Mrs. Silver has a tortoise named ‘alfie’. Mrs. Silver wants to make him grow faster. Mr. hoppy, Mrs. Silver’s neighbor is in love with her. Now, he has to find a way to win her heart by making alfie grow with a magical spell and some cabbages. Will Mr. hoppy be successful?
Teacher’s day Teachers Day in Indus is celebrated in an innovative way. This year we tried to make it unique. Our class was divided into 2 parts.One part was doing a role play and the other was handling the junior classes. Our class was very delighted to present the role-play. Some of our friends were also part of the role- play. The celebration started with live painting and other events. Then it was our class’s chance. Everyone was nervous but then they also performed well. After the role – play was over everyone appreciated it. Then students gave the cards to their mentors and greeted them “Happy Teacher’s Day”.
Trek to Mohadi fall Our class went for a trek at Mohadi falls on 26th Aug 2012, which is situated at Khandwa road. This trip was very interesting and one of our best trips. From the chhawani campus we boarded our bus. There were almost all students of our class and some mentors also. In bus we all played antakshri, all were singing songs and enjoying. After one hour, we reached our destination. We walked around 5 km and then we came down from the mountain. It was dangerous but, also adventurous. After coming down we all played under the fall at least for 4 hrs. Then we took our lunch, everyone brought very delicious dishes. After taking lunch we climbed and came up. After coming up, we were all very tired and after sometime we went back to Chhawani. This trip was very exploratory and motivating. We all enjoyed a lot…!
Birthday celebration Indus celebrates birthdays very intimately. We invite the parents of the birthday boy or girl and make them feel very special. Then the person lights a candle and all of us sing the birthday song for them. Then everyone shares his/her their feelings about the person. Then we present a card made by whole class to them. At the end the birthday boy or a girl shares sweets with us. This year till now, we have celebrated many birthdays and enjoyed…!
Thursday class assembly Every Thursday we conduct our class assembly. We begin with prayers and then 5 to 6 students make their presentation. They start by introducing new thoughts and they update us with news. Afterwards they present quizzes and other interesting things. At last we sing national anthem. By this, we learn a lot and are eager to learn more.
Father- a creation Who is father? Do you know? Why god made him? Do you know? When you are in trouble, He bursts it like a bubble, When you are sick, He makes you laugh with magic tricks, When you are in fear, He will help you far or near. I know all the answers, Because my father is my god, And I can hurt him never, In my life ever…! Ishita Batra
