About Us The Historic Homes of Mutton Hill refers to the John Brown House and the Perkins Stone Mansion. “Mutton Hill” is the name that residents of 19th century Akron gave to this 150-acre farm, known for its 1,000 Merino sheep that were reputed to produce some of the finest wool in the world.

Quilt Show at the John S. Knight Center on Oct. 22-23, with over 200 quilts on display. The Society has over 150 quilts and coverlets in its permanent collection.
