[email protected] AAMA America’s Cup Regatta III – 1:15 p.m. (return to the hotel approximately 4:00 p.m.) While chartering the legendary America's Cup yachts you can get the hands-on experience of being a crew member by helping hoist sails, trimming sails on the "coffee grinders" or steering a course. America’s Cup Charters give people the chance to feel what it's like to be part of an America's Cup experience. Racing participants will sail aboard one of the following 12-meter racing class yachts – Weatherly or American Eagle. Spectators will observe from the decks of the motor yacht Gansett. All are vintage vessels and have been restored to their original glory. What to Wear? Cap or hat; Sunglasses with a croaky; Rubber soled deck shoes or sneakers - please no black soled shoes! A light windbreaker or sweater; Sunscreen. We recommend that you bring these items in a soft sided bag which can be stowed on board. Upon boarding, the crew will stow your gear and familiarize you with the yacht. The captain will give a safety talk and history of the yacht as you cast off the dock. You are invited to help raise the sails as you head out through the harbor. If you wish to participate, you will be assigned sailing positions and given instruction. Practicing your positions and experiencing how working as a team is the only way to win the race will quickly form a team spirit. Once practice is complete, teams will head to the start line! SPACE IS LIMITED SO SIGN UP EARLY! You must register for this event by May 28. Meet in the Marriott Lobby at 1:15 p.m. for a short walk to the pier. Fees: Racing Yacht—$170 | Spectator Yacht—$90

TUESDAY, JUNE 20, 2017 Kempenaar’s Clambake – “A New England Tradition” – Meet in the hotel lobby by 5:00 p.m. (return to the hotel approximately 9:00 p.m.) Let’s all go together to the Kempenaar's Clambake Club to experience one of the world-famous Rhode Island clambakes. Since 1945, the Kempenaar Family has introduced clambakes to guests from all over the world. In the early part of the 1900s, the late Esau Kempenaar came to the United States from the Netherlands and started one of the biggest nursery businesses on the east coast; Boulevard Nurseries. After a few years, he really wanted a place for his fellow workers, family and friends to relax and take part in an old fashioned clambake, so he built Kempenaar's Clambake Club. AAMA will have exclusive use of their 5 acres. Visit the driving range. Winner of the “Closest to the Pin” contest will be served a five-pound lobster! Compete in a game of horseshoes, volleyball, or bocce, or just sit back and enjoy the attractive grounds before the “bake’s ready” bell rings. We’ll get served with a feast of steamed clams, a ¼ lb. lobster and charcoal broiled chicken and much more. Fee of $85/person includes: Transportation, Dinner, Beer, Wine, Soft drinks, all fees and gratuities. Cash bar will also be available. Shuttles will depart at 5:00 p.m. and return between 8:30 and 9:00 p.m.
