PUBLIC NOTICE THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA WATER UTILITIES DEPARTMENT DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM MAINTENANCE The Village of Tequesta Water Utilities Department will temporarily change the method of chlorinating potable water. Utility water users may notice an unusual chlorine taste or odor in their tap water beginning the last week of September through the last week of October 2016. This temporary condition will not cause adverse health effects. However, if you are on kidney dialysis, please consult your physician for special instructions concerning this matter. If you are sensitive to the taste or odor of chlorine, keep an open container of drinking water in your refrigerator for a few hours to allow the chlorine taste and odor to dissipate. If you have tropical fish or aquatic animals, contact your local professional for advice and take appropriate action to insure that you have properly treated the water before adding it to your aquarium. Increased hydrant flushing will also occur during this period and may cause the water to become cloudy and discolored. This is temporary and should not last more than a few hours. We sincerely regret any inconvenience you may experience during this time. Please understand that maintenance is necessary to provide safe and reliable drinking water to our customers.
