In just three seasons at Queens University of Charlotte, Coach Wilkes has made an impact to the Royals Volleyball program. Coach Wilkes enters her ninth season in collegiate coaching and has led the Royals to three of the best seasons in program history. Coach Wilkes has compiled an overall record of 62-33 with two seasons being back-to-back, 20-plus wins, East Division Conference Carolina Champions and Conference Carolina Champions from the Royals previous conference. Wilkes is the first coach in Queens’ history to gain the Royals their first ever NCAA regional bid with a tie for third place finish within their new Conference the South Atlantic Conference. Aside from the wins, under the direction of Wilkes, the Royals have moved up the University’s career statistical records as several players are now leading the record board in assist, kills and digs along with being awarded all-conference honors. Wilkes was named to the 2009 Inaugural AVCA “Thirty Under 30” award that recognizes up-and-coming coaching talent at all levels of the sport. Wilkes was a former setter standout and conference opponent at Catawba College (03’).

Tammi Fries (pronounced freeze) enters her second season as assistant coach with the Royals volleyball program and her ninth season as a collegiate coach. As an assistant within the program she has the primary responsibilities of training all hitters, coordinating team defense, scouting and recruiting. She was named to the AVCA’s “Thirty Under 30” award that recognizes up-and-coming coaching talent at all levels of the sport. Fries has been an intricate part to the success of the past two seasons and lead the team a third place finish in the SAC as well as gaining the top 64 in the country status and gaining the NCAA regional bid in the 2013 season. Fries was a successful standout hitter at Campbell University (04’).

Setter Defensive Specialist Day Camp
Session II: June 28, 2014 Time: 9 am-4 pm Ages: Girls 14-17 Clinic Cost: $75 *Campers will need to bring their own bag lunch This one day clinic is designed for girls of all skills levels from beginner to advanced who are looking to maximize their abilities in the setting or defensive specialist areas. Players will learn how to improve their technique tactical skills within the position in which they want to grow.
Satellite Camps
12 player minimum Allow the Royals volleyball staff to come to your volleyball program or school. Satellite camps provide the opportunity for the Royals staff to come to your school and work with players on individual skills, position specifics and team training sessions. Each camper will learn the fundamentals of the game with serving, passing, setting, attacking and defense. Campers will also learn the importance of being a team player and effective communication skills. Our goal is to teach the fundamentals of the game in a way that each camper leaves wanting to play more volleyball. Coaching will include technical drills, interactive games and competition. Volleyball, Friends, and Fun!
Session IV: July 10-12, 2014 Check-In: July 10, 2014 at 12 pm Check-Out: Saturday July 12, 2014 at 12:30 pm Ages: High School Teams Camp Cost: Overnight $225 Commuter $175 *Overnight option includes housing and dining on campus Team camp is an intense, structured camp that will allow teams to focus on team development and performance through training with high school teammates and competing against other participating camps teams. Each team will receive quality technical and fundamental instruction, utilizing drills and competition to enhance offensive and defensive performance. Coaches will need to accompany their team.

These training techniques will include an introduction to fundamentals, intensive skill training, position training, drills, competitive competition, goal setting and more, all taught from experienced staff and college players.
