VolleyFest 2016 Prep Tryout Information

VolleyFest 2016 VolleyFest is a great opportunity for anyone who loves the game of volleyball to come and play. No prior experience is necessary and players can get together with a group of friends to form teams, or you can bring already formed teams! Teams can be school affiliated teams, a group of girls that haven't played together before, or even your club team - a prefect way to start before we get into the club season! This is a great team bonding experience! Club players - get your team together and start early! NORCO hosts two different age brackets: * Division 1 for 8th grade and under * Division 2 for 6th grade and under VolleyFest 2016 will be on Saturday, September 17th - prizes will be awarded and an All-Tournament team will be selected! Melanie Weiss to Assist with 15 White! Welcome Melanie Weiss! Melanie is a seven year club player and earned a Bronze medal at JO's her 18s season with Ottawa Fusion. Melanie went on to play for Lafayette College where she was a four year defensive specialist in the D1 Patriot League. Melanie has also coached for Austin Performance where she was the 11's Head Coach and led their Defense and Serve Receive camps and clinics. We are excited to have Melanie join our Coaching Staff!!
NORCO Alum to Coach at Alma Mater Former NORCO player, Alix Denison ('11), played for Kean University in New Jersey. She was a four year player, a three year starter for the Cougars, and was named to the Kean Invitational All-Tournament Team in 2014. Alix has coached club volleyball for Central Jersey Volleyball Academy and Allegro Volleyball Club. She is returning to her alma mater to be an Assistant Coach for the Cougars.

Prep Tryout Information
Prep Team tryouts will be Sunday, October 2nd at 10 am NORCO Prep is the perfect opportunity for anyone who loves to play volleyball, but cannot make the full commitment to Club volleyball. The emphasis of this program will be on skill development and competitive game play. This is a great program to either get a first exposure to the sport or to get better and improve on skills outside of a school team, without the full schedule of club volleyball. One practice a week and three tournaments; the commitment is less for those with busy schedules. The coaching and training will be designed so all players improve and advance! Practices will start in October and run every Thursday through mid-February (excluding Thanksgiving and Christmas week). Team Pictures will be on Sunday, October 30th. Exact times will be listed after tryouts! The Prep teams will participate in three one day tournaments: Prep Holiday Tournament, December 18th; Prep/Club Tournament, January 21st; InHouse Tournament, February 4th.
