Thankfully the rain held off and a great morning’s sport was enjoyed by all. Both St. Vincents and Lucan fielded three teams each with total of nine matches played. The final tally reflected well in Lucan’s favour and it is evident that the girls are making good progress in their off-the-ground camogie. Well done! By Eithne Ryan – Team Mentor Camogie U10 - Clontarf v Lucan Sarsfields Clontarf were great hosts for what was a very interesting set of games. Our opposition were in their first year of Camogie and they had some nice skills on display. The Lucan teams provided a real challenge for Clontarf with experience winning out across all matches. This was an opportunity for the parents and players to really see the quality that is emerging across this team which has been together now for almost 4 years. There was opportunity for every player to step up and grow in stature, which they did. This team is improving and they are working really well. Roll-on Raheny on the 26th April Home Match. By Gary Hollowed – Team Manager Juvenile U13 Division 1 - Lucan Sarsfields U13A 2-5 v Ballyboden St. Endas 2-2 U13A Camogie girls win again Lucan’s U13A Camogie girls continued on their winning ways with a hard fought win over an impressive Ballyboden team on Sunday. Lucan played with a strong cross-field wind in the first half but went in at half-time two points down. But these girls never lie down and they came out in the second half determined not to give up their unbeaten run. In a highly entertaining game where all the wonderful skills of the game were on display, the girls slowly got a grip of the game and pulled ahead. To the relief of all the home supporters the referee finally blew the whistle on a score line of 2:05 – 2:02. Thanks as always for all the great support and encouragement.

By Ollie Mahon – Team Manager Adult Camogie - second week of league matches 8th April 2014 – By Liam Ryan. Lucan fielded three senior camogie teams on Tuesday 8th April and emerged with two wins. Senior 1 League - Lucan Sarsfields A 4-10 v Erins Isle 2-5 Lucan's young Division One squad had a good win by 4-10 to 2-5 over a tough Erins Isle outfit. Erins Isle were one point down with 13 minutes left on the clock but Lucan pulled away with two goals from Orla Beagan and points from Ali Twomey, Sarah Courtney and Ailbhe Ryan to run out convincing winners. Two first half goals from Laura Murtagh had given Lucan a 2-6 to 1-2 lead at the break. Rachael Kenny and Ciara Casey made their senior one debuts for Lucan and did well. Star performers on the night were Laura Murtagh, Claire Rigney, Ailbhe Ryan, Sarah Courtney, Orla Beagan and Niamh Byrne while Joelenne Hoary impressed in goal. Lucan: Joelenne Hoary, Ailise Dowling, Sinead O'Toole, Siobhan Grimes, Niamh Byrne, Mairi Moynihan (0-1 free), Claire Rigney, Sarah Courtney (0-2), Amber O'Connor, Ali Twomey (0-1), Orla Beagan (2-3, 0-2 frees), Rachael Kenny, Laura Murtagh (2-0), Niamh Berry, Ailbhe Ryan (0-3), Ciara Casey. 3
Senior 2 League Lucan Sarsfields B 2-14 v St. Vincents B 2-8 Meanwhile, another great result for Dave Keenan's newly-promoted squad in senior camogie Division 2. Lucan beat St Vincents by 2-14 to 2-8. This was a very strong performance by a team who are starting to raise eyebrows around Dublin camogie. The entire defence played really well with convincing keeper Jenny Ryan in confident form and full-back line Deirdre O'Toole, Sinead Ní Lanagain and Louise Beirne giving nothing away. The rookie half-back line were a revelation - Rachel Leonard, Amy Gorman and Orla Moloney are all fine prospects. Laura O'Mahony and Michelle Kelly are two quality operators in mid-field while Ailish O'Grady, Emer Keenan and particularly captain Ellen Downes at centre-forward were brilliant on the night and won all the big battles. Up front our exceedingly youthful trio came of age. Sarah Boland was as combative as ever, Charlotte Rooney chipped in with fine points while senior debutant fifteen-year-old Orlaith Murphy gave a sneak preview of glorious days ahead for her. Jess Condron also made her senior bow in the second half and likewise can look forward to a stellar career. Division 2 Team: Jenny Ryan, Deirdre O'Toole, Sinead Ní Lanagain, Louise Beirne; Orla Moloney, Amy Gorman, Rachel Leonard; Michelle Kelly, Laura O'Mahony; Ailish O'Grady, Ellen Downes, Emer Keenan, Sarah Boland, Charlotte Rooney, Orlaith Murphy, Jess Condron, Lorna Sexton. Senior 6 League Lucan Sarsfields D 0-5 v Good Counsel C 7-9 Robbie Breen's Senior Division 6 squad lost out to a strong Good Council side. Lucan were chasing the game from the start. Council were strong physically and very skilful as Lucan tried in vain to contain the scorers. Council now top the league and based on this performance will be hard to depose. Division Six Team: Maebh McGuire, Mairead Ryan, Naomi Feighery, Jenny Kavanagh, Jane Doran, Dearbhla Hopper, Fiona Dowler, Niamh Power, Dayna Barry, Eimear Hayes, Hannah Morrin, Maebh Dowler, Orla Carroll, Eimear Murray, Caitriona Ryan, Maeve Ward, Aoife Greene. Senior 5 League Kilmacud Crokes B 5-5 v Lucan Sarsfields C 3-6 Bill Ryan's senior camogie Division Five squad play their second match tonight Thursday 10th April. Best of luck girls.
