Development Plan Outline HEAD -- Doctrine, Theology, Bible Ask and Discuss: What truths, doctrines or theological concepts that are difficult for you to understand or explain to others? What are the gaps in your Biblical knowledge? Examples: • Authority of scripture / cannon • Church History - key decisions • Heresy - list • Culture / ethics / philosophy — book club • Spiritual Gifts • Disagreements within Orthodoxy • Meaning of Millennium - Eschatology • Old Testament - overall understanding • Seminary Degree HEART -- Character and Affections Ask and Discuss: What “idols” compete with you following Jesus whole-heartily and finding joy in Him? When feeling stress or weariness, where are you tempted to run after and pursue? Who are three heroes or examples of faithfully following Jesus… to read and learn from? Examples: • Approval • Comfort • In stress - move toward apathy? • Enjoying and experiencing the Father’s love… asking constantly “am I doing enough?” • Idolizing money… giving vs. growing in materialism / • Compassion for the lost HANDS -- Skills, Projects, Practices Ask and Discuss: What skills, practices and competencies do you need to learn or grow in experience? Example:

Teaching the Word… communicate, illustrate truths assessing giftedness in others effective delegation counseling others discipling and shepherding others (beyond navigators) leadership theory / best practices
