MATCH NOTES

Opening Kick A pair of regionally-ranked foes face off this evening as the Bullets host the Eastern University Eagles in a non-conference tilt. Gettysburg enters tonight's match ranked fifth in the United Soccer Coaches' Division III Mid-Atlantic Region poll while Eastern comes in at No. 9. The Series Gettysburg holds an 11-4 lead over Eastern in the all-time series that started in 1995. The Bullets have won the last four meetings, although the two sides have not met since 2009. Last Time Out Senior Patrick Santini erupted for a career-high four goals, tying a school record with his third career hat trick as the Bullets defeated 23rdranked Haverford 4-1 here at Clark Field this past Saturday night. Santini needed just 34 minutes to achieve his hat trick, supplying Gettysburg more than enough offense after the Fords scored the game's first goal. The win was Gettysburg's first over the Fords since 2013 and marked the Bullets' first victory over a nationally-ranked opponent since a 3-2 win at No. 18 Johns Hopkins on Oct. 28, 2009. Freshman Jonathan Molina added two assists for the Bullets while senior Max Karen made three saves to earn the victory in goal. Last Meeting with Eastern Kyle DeBlois '12 and Andrew McLane '13 scored five minutes apart in the second half, leading Gettysburg to a 2-0 victory at Eastern on Sept. 23, 2009. Gettysburg held a slim 7-6 shot advantage while Mike Walmer '13 needed to make just one save to earn the shutout.

Players of the Week Following a 2-0 week, seniors David Murphy and Patrick Santini swept swept the Centennial Conference Player of the Week awards. Murphy was named the Defensive Player of the Week after helping lead the Bullets to a shutout at McDaniel while limiting Haverford to just four shots on goal. Santini captured his third CC Offensive POW honor this season after scoring all five of his team's goals last week, including the game-winner versus McDaniel and his four-goal outing versus Haverford. His hat trick plus-one marked the team's first four-goal performance since Chris Pryor '00 scored four versus Washington College in 1999. In the Rankings For the third time this season, the Bullets have earned a national ranking, checking in at No. 23 in the D3soccer.com Top-25 poll. The team was ranked as high as No. 20 earlier in the season, and they have also been ranked in every United Soccer Coaches Division III Mid-Atlantic Region poll. Scouting the Eagles  Like Gettysburg, Eastern carries a 7-2 record into tonight's match. In their last time out, the Eagles were dealt a 3-1 setback at the hands of Manhattanville in their MAC Freedom Conference opener.  Nine different Eagles have a scored a goal this season, with junior Cade Harmon leading the way with four. Junior Colin Furlong has dished out a teamleading four assists.  Senior Quentin Keibler has played nearly every minute in goal and has already posted four shutouts. He made 11 saves in his last time out.
