The Pokes move to 7-6 in MW quarterfinal games with the win. The Cowboys are now 9-15 overall in MW Tournament games. Wyoming holds a 47-25 advantage against the Aggies all-time, including a 3-1 advantage on neutral floors. The Cowboys 23 wins are the most since recording 26 wins during the 1987-88 season. The Pokes moved to 20-0 on the season when scoring 60 or more points. The Pokes are now 9-1 on the season in afternoon contests. Coach Shyatt recorded his 23rd win of the season the most in a single season in his 10-year career. The Cowboys are now 20-2 on the season when out shooting the opposition. The Pokes shot 48 percent (26-of-54) while that Aggies shot 44 percent (23-of-52). The Pokes scored 38 points in the paint against the Aggies. It is the 13th time this season that the Pokes have scored 30 or more points in the paint. Wyoming moves to 15-0 on the season when out scoring the opponent in the paint by double digits. Utah State scored 24 points in the paint. The game featured 16 lead changes the most in a game for the Pokes this season. The Cowboys scored 11 points off of turnovers for the 22nd double-figure scoring game off of turnovers. The Pokes dished out 13 assists on the night for the 28th game with over 10 assists. The Pokes are 22-3 on the season when recording more assists than opponents. Wyoming used the starting lineup of senior guard Riley Grabau, junior guard Josh Adams, senior guard Charles Hankerson Jr., senior forward Derek Cooke Jr. and senior forward Larry Nance Jr. The Cowboys are 18-7 when using that starting lineup. The Cowboys’ starting guards tallied 36 points for the Pokes and all scored in double figures. Eight of 12 available Cowboys played against the Aggies.

Senior guard Charles Hankerson Jr. recorded a career-high 16 points for the Cowboys for his eighth game in doublefigures this season and the 10th time in his career. He scored his career high on a career-high six field goals. It was his first double-figure scoring game since scoring 13 at Colorado State. Hankerson was 2-of-4 from behind the arc and has hit two or more treys in 13 games this season. Junior guard Josh Adams recorded a game-high 19 points for his 24th game in double-figures and the 56th of his career. Adams has now scored in double-figures in all five of the games he has played in the Mountain West Tournament. Adams recorded six assists on the night, he has recorded five or more assists in 12 games this season. Senior forward Larry Nance Jr. recorded 13 points for the Cowboys for his 22nd game in double-figures this season and the 60th of his career. Nance recorded three assists on the afternoon. He has three or more assists in 14 games this season. Nance played 40 minutes for the Cowboys. It was third time this season that Nance has played the entire game. He played all 40 minutes at Montana State and at San Jose State. Senior guard Riley Grabau recorded 11 points for the Cowboys, which all came in the second half. It was his 14th game in double-figures this season and the 39th of his career. Grabau hit two threes moving to fourth all-time with Reggie Fox in career-three pointers with 166. Grabau hit five free throws on the day. It was the ninth time this season he hit five or more free throws in a contest. Senior forward Derek Cooke Jr. recorded 10 rebounds for the Cowboys for his sixth double-digit rebound performance of the season and the 14th of his career. Derek Cooke Jr. leads Wyoming with 63 dunks this season, while Larry Nance Jr. has 41. Josh Adams has 21 and Alan Herndon has 19, Jonathan Barnes three and Jason McManamen one.
