Definiteness of Purpose is a concept shared in Napoleon Hill’s classic Think and Grow Rich. He refers to this as, “The starting point of all individual achievement.” There are three steps: 1. Decide what you really want. 2. Define what is necessary to achieve it. 3. Declare the purposeful acts of excellence daily that allow you to achieve it. Definitive and decisive clarity, plus conscious repetition, implants this is your subconscious mind—which then automatically acts upon it. It all starts with a decision. You must decide and act definitively. This means never deviating from this course of action. You need to decide what you really want. You also need to decide if you are willing to do what is necessary, to sacrifice and to no longer tolerate anything less than what you want. Then define what is essential and necessary for you to achieve what you want.

You then declare the purposeful acts of excellence to achieve that goal daily. It’s the decision, plus the real, core, purposeful action, that is necessary for you to be able to achieve what you want.

The bottom line is, you’re after purposeful movement and action. You need to be definitive and bold about your decision. Remember: Purpose is not a destination. It is a way of being! It comes from inside yourself. Get clear on deeper emotions and feelings that you want to create from the goal that you really have. You MUST MAKE A DECISION. Everything that is alive has speed and motion. It knows its purpose and job in life. You get to align yourself with the speed and motion of the universe. Everything will come down to your willingness to align with that core foundation, and act with swift urgency. Consider the mortality motivator. We will all die. If you connect with your mortality, you will sense the level of urgency that will allow you to step up and take a stand. This means you get to start being purposeful and definitive to attain what you want in life. Your results are a direct reflection of what you are committed to. You will only get what you ask and work for. If you can get clear on what it takes to master this process, you’ll realize that you have control over: ● What you put your attention towards. ● Your attitude. ● Your approach. ● The action that you take to align yourself with your goals, dreams and passions. The definiteness of purpose, and taking action, allows you to create success and breakthrough.
