He rushed for 138 yards versus Allegheny after posting a 104-yard effort at Denison. He trails Chris Stewart ‘99 in eighth with 2,282 and Tim Oliver ‘91 in seventh place (2,341 yards).

Coach Raeburn’s Comments
“Obviously we’re disappointed with how we played that second half. I thought we played a really good first half, but in the second half our run defense was about as bad as it’s been since I’ve been coaching here. We had a ton of penalties. We were completely inconsistent offensively. Those things have to change.”
On success with wide receiver screens: “We’ve had some success with those plays this year. Last week versus Wooster we had some opportunities to hit some big plays but we just missed a block. Anytime you get pressure and you get a chance to connect on a screen, you have a chance to get an explosive play for big yards because of the reduced numbers downfield on defense.” On Ohio Wesleyan: “They’re a little bit different offensively. They run the ball a little bit more, but still do a lot of the basic things they’ve hung their hat on over the past few seasons. They’re a little more balanced this year with some more read-option plays. Defensively they have some new faces, but they continue to put pressure on the quarterback. I think we’ll see a lot of blitzes, not just in the passing game but in the running game, as well.”
Ohio Wesleyan Preview
The Battling Bishops return home after splitting a pair of road games over the past two weeks. After opening with a 40-20 win at Bluffton and a 35-25 victory at home against Kenyon, OWU lost on a field goal at Denison (34-31) before picking up a 36-19 victory at Allegheny last Saturday.

He also earned Player of the Week honors by throwing for 150 yards and two TDs and rushing for 150 yards and three touchdowns versus Kenyon in week two. Through four starts Orsini leads the team with 399 rushing yards and six TDs on 58 attempts. He’s through for 757 yards and six scores, completing 67-of-98 pass attempts with only two interceptions.

Tight end Calvin Cagney (SR/6-2/215/Indialantic, FL/Melbourne) tops the receiving list for Ohio Wesleyan with 26 catches for 238 yards and three TDs. The Bishops rank third in the NCAC against rush, holding teams to 126.8 yards per game. Morgan McBride (SR/LB/5-9/185/Tucker, GA/St. Pius X) leads the team with 40 total tackles and 22 solo stops. Soccer Earns National Ranking; Jennings Named Top NCAC Player
Wabash moved into the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tires men’s soccer rankings for the first time in school history, entering the polls at 15th this week. The Little Giants are ranked second in the Great Lakes Region by the NSCAA, trailing fellow North Coast Athletic Conference member Kenyon.
Dayton Jennings
A Sunday afternoon 1-0 victory against Oberlin gave Wabash a 9-0-2 record for the season and a 2-0 mark in NCAC matches. The 11-game unbeaten streak to open the season broke the old school record of ten set by the 1986 team (a tie and nine consecutive victories).
Sophomore goalkeeper Dayton Jennings (Noblesville, IN/Noblesville) played a key role in the record-setting Sunday for the team, helping him earn North Coast Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week honors.
Jennings and his Wabash teammates picked up a pair of victories last week, starting with a 3-0 win at Mount St. Joseph University Monday. He posted six saves in 90 minutes in goal in the victory. Sunday Jennings made five saves against an offensively aggressive Oberlin team, keeping a blank sheet in the Little Giants’ 1-0 win. Jennings also broke the school record for shutouts in a season, posting his seventh of the year with his effort versus Oberlin. JR Dunn ‘99 held the old mark with a 6-1/2 in 1997. Jennings and fellow sophomore goalkeeper Chase Francoeur (SO/Seymour, IN/Columbus North) have combined for nine shutouts this year, topping the old Wabash record of eight set in 1997, as well. Wabash leads all NCAA Division III programs with an average of 0.82 shutouts per game, rank third in goals against average (0.26), and sixth in save percentage (0.906). Jennings ranks ninth individually in goals against average (0.314) and 12th in saves per game (0.897).
Next Match: Wabash travels to Allegheny College for a Sunday NCAC match beginning at 12 p.m.
