This page is designed for you to apply what you have learned from the Scriptures. Our goal is not just “to know” but to “act upon what we know.” (His Word, Our Walk!) We encourage you to discuss the following questions with family, friends and your LIFEgroup. Although you can review it on your own, it will be most useful to you when processed with others!

1.Why is the first word of 1 Cor. 15:20 so important? What is Paul doing in these verses, 13 to 20? 2. What was helpful or interesting to you about the “lesson of Firstfruits?” Why does this matter to Paul? 3. Can you describe the “lesson of the two fathers” (Adam and Christ)? 4. Why is it so critical that Christ finishes His work? 1 Cor. 15:20-28| Dennis Miller, Lead Pastor | March 29 & 30, 2014 TWO LESSONS WE WILL LEARN IN THIS SERIES 1. There are very ______________, and ______________ reasons to hold to the resurrection of Christ! 2. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the ______________ issue of Christianity, and it demands ______________. THE “IFS” AND THE “BUT” 1Cor. 15:13 If there is no resurrection of the dead, . . . 1Cor. 15:14 And if Christ has not been raised,, . . . 1Cor. 15:16 For if the dead are not raised, . . . 1Cor. 15:17 And if Christ has not been raised, . . . 1Cor. 15:19 If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men. 1Cor. 15:20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, . . .

The Lord has ______________; He has risen ______________! Luke 24:34 . . . The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon. (KJV)

THE SCRIPTURES 1Cor. 15:20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in his own turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. 24 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. 25 For

he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27 For he “has put everything under his feet.” Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. 28 When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.

THE LESSON OF THE RESURRECTION Three lessons that help us understand the resurrection: 1. The lesson of the ________________! 1Cor. 15:20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

Jesus had to ______ from the ______ to be our Firstfruits. — Firstfruits is a ______________.

2. The lesson of ________________. 1Cor. 15:21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.

Jesus had to _______ from the dead to be our “_________.” Only _______ men who ever lived, had the ______________ to not sin, and, therefore, not ________. John 10:18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”

— If you are from Adam’s line, you ________ ________. — If you are from Christ’s line, you will ______ _______. 3. The lesson of ______________.

Lev. 23:9 The LORD said to Moses, 10 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you enter the land I am going to give you and you reap its harvest, bring to the priest a sheaf of the first grain you harvest. 11 He is to wave the sheaf before the LORD so it will be accepted on your behalf; the priest is to wave it on the day after the Sabbath.

1 Cor. 15; 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 24 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
