The again successful Wall Fair was held Thursday, June 30; Friday, July 1; Saturday, July 2; and Sunday, July 3. A Vendor Directory and Fair Ground Map sheet describes a listing of the General Vendors, Crafts, and Exhibitors. The Wall Township Environmental Advisory Committee participated all four nights and had a booth hosting a Green Cleaning Display demonstrating products and recipes for making green and effective cleaning supplies such as over cleaner, window cleaner, tile cleaner and all-purpose cleaner. The WTEAC appreciated the support of our members who ran the booth as scheduled nightly: Wilma Morrissey, Chair; Joe Balesterri, Vice Chair; Bob Baumgartner, Mike Falcone, John Ozell, Ernest Bongivonni, and Lori Lee Corson. In addition to having a trash and recycling container at each end of the booth, the WTEAC shared the following literature with the public in outreach awareness: Eco Tips brochures from Monmouth County included “What is a Watershed; “Coastal Dunes”; “Energy for the Future”; “Why Conserve Energy”; “Stream Corridor Protection”; “Building a Rain Garden”; “Lawns and Gardens”; “Managing Plant Invaders”; ‘Tree Preservation”; and Stormwater Management”. The WTEAC also dispensed NJDEP Clean Water Rangers stickers and Clean Water Rangers Coloring books along with watermelon candy sticks which were compliments of the Allaire State Village General Store. The WTEAC also distributed their own brochures pertaining exclusively to Wall Township, namely “Open Space, Developed and Underdeveloped”; “Nature’s Beauty, Environmental Habitat, Wildlife and Estuaries”; “Bikeway Tours”; “Rare Endangered Species – Watershed Areas; and “Recreational Parks and Activities.”
