The EFW heater is designed to be a very affordable, large wattage wall heater. It is commonly used in apartment construction to heat rooms up to 400 square feet, or where a remote thermostat is required on a 4000 Watt-style heater. The open-coil element dissipates heat quickly.
The large impeller fan produces 185 CFM. The 4-Pole cast aluminum unit bearing motor is permanently lubricated for years of trouble-free service. Use it with a wall thermostat that can be field or factory installed.
ENGINEERING SPECIFICATIONS: Contractor shall supply and install EFW Series wall surface-mounted forced-air electric heaters manufactured by King Electrical Mfg. Company, of the wattage and voltage as indicated on the plans. Motor: Heavy-duty cast aluminum unit bearing, permanently lubricated with 10cc oil reservoir, 1440 RPM. Enclosed impedance protected with intake air cooling motor for increased bearing life. Fan: High efficiency, dynamically balanced 5-blade aluminum fan. 185 CFM. Elements: Element assemblies shall be constructed of coiled Nickel Chromium alloy, corrosion-resistant wire strung through a minimum of four rows of mica insulator. Element assemblies shall have factory provided connection to allow field modification to 50% wattage at time of installation.
Safety Limit: The thermal cutout turns off power to the heater in the event of overheating and automatically resets when temperature returns to normal. Safety Light: Illuminates when the thermal cutout trips and turns off when the limit resets. Wallbox: 20 gauge electrogalvanized steel with factory installed groundwire. Minimum 4”clearance to floors and 6” to sidewalls. Zero clearance to combustibles in the wall. Grille: 20 gauge steel finished in a gloss white, powder-coated paint. Options: 1-Pole or 2-Pole built-in thermostat 45-80°F operating range, retrofit grille, and surface wallbox. Approvals: cCSAus (LR43323-15), ETL
